The last book she put up was that Running with Wolves one and I read the preview on Google books and at that very moment I decided never to read any book recommended by Lana Del Rey aka Elizabeth Woolridge Grant ever again
This is exactly the type of shit that wins me Lana Hater awards but idgaf, that book was HORRIBLE
i read women who run with wolves bc of lana (&other women kept recommending it too) and its actually really good and impactful (at least imo)

maybe she's just waiting til november to do a whole 10 yr anniversary for born to die: the paradise edition to commemorate the entire era at once.... but more likely she'll just do a btd post on instagram a couple days after its anniversary

the original was tony bennett. bobby vinton's version is one of many covers.

22 minutes ago, Super Movie said:My Momma, Next To Me, Pretty Baby and For K Pt. 1 are quite twangy/country to me I could probably say that about every song on Sirens though
i think its that lana's always naturally had a bit of that twang to her voice so once you toss a guitar in there we all get visions of her yeehaw potential

isn't what most fans call "for k part 1" actually called "drive by" cause of it being featured on from the end but we don't actually have an official title for what we call "pretty baby"... so wouldn't it make sense for "pretty baby" to actually be "for k part 1" especially of the "for k part 2" connection with the lyric
this has actually always been my theory

yes time to move to the lana/nikki album thread

31 minutes ago, Leader of The Pack said:I really want both of them on some old lizzy classics like disco, YBIATR, pin up galore, trash magic, etc. it would fit so well country and western production.
omg imagine lana reviving motel 6 or 1949 with nikki with full country production a dream

kinda glad her song was just on the credits and not on any of this way-too-normalized simulated child porn crap
no offence to fans of the show -

4 hours ago, the ocean said:i just heard both sides now play in a movie and it reminded me of how much i want to get into her work more in depth
i'm pretty familiar with her earlier work (blue, ladies of the canyon, court & spark) but i haven't really delved into her later stuff so @scarlettohara do you recommend anything specifically? besides hejira cause that's essential listening for anyone getting into joni
the first album i always recommend bc its probably my favourite is the hissing of summer lawns plus i think its the one that would appeal to lana fans the most. don juan's reckless daughter is a good one too if you want something fun and chaotic but it could take some time to get into. then wild things run fast is really good too probably her happiest and most upbeat album. but i'd reccommend all her albums honestly.
4 hours ago, the ocean said:also i think it was after these pictures were taken but i think turbulent indigo (?) got released on vinyl for the first time
it was shine, her final album that finally got released on vinyl. sadly turbulent indigo, taming the tiger, both sides now, and travelogue have never been released on vinyl yet but now that she's doing the archive releases, those will probably get vinyl releases by 2025
also that reminds me with all the stuff that's come out since these pics, i should probably take another updated one

tbh paradise was the only good one anyway bc it did have so many parallels with the actual cover but these are mostly for rich people who don't have enough stupid things to waste their money on so it really doesn't matter kinda glad she's not too enthusiastic about this scam
-
every single song on bb was the original rcs idc if that makes no sense trust me, lana told me in a dream and its all totally legit info bc she confirmed it in the same dream

It‘s a reminder to politicians to tame their passion and not let it affect their work. So I guess Lana used it in a similar way where wild horses represent untamed / wild passion and love.i guess it doesn't work too well though

feeling blessed that God made me a woman so i can't hear any of those super subtle mixing issues but i can see a larger spectrum of colours

its clearly her handlers. this is so out of character for her but most things she's done since her brain aneurysm have been out of character for her. she doesn't know what she's doing so a bunch of opportunists are taking advantage of her. this isn't the joni mitchell we know and love but i don't blame her bc she probably doesn't even know its happening (she doesn't even run her site). i wonder who owns her music now and how connected to pfizer they are.....
