That’s fair! Bur honestly I do think so - she’s at a civil rights march crying for freedom from oppression. A freedom that she couldn’t wish for her father, because as per WW’s lyrics, he is trapped in a relationship with a narcissist “his wife would rage at me”. The three singles were very intentionally released alongside one another, so I couldn’t help but look for connections between the lyrics though so I might be wrong!

I dunno, I assumed the “them” she screams for are “all the things [plural ]I couldn’t want for him”, as “I screamed for them” comes right after. The things she couldn’t want for him (her father) are the things she screams for.

Wish there was a cassette with the blue-tinged side profile ?

UV’s highs are incredible and it used to be my favourite Lana album, but now it’s among my least: CW is far too long; the title track is a beautiful melody overwhelmed by an overcrowded production and inconsistent lyrics; BB is lyrically embarrassing, as with FMWUTTT and PWIC - overall the lyrics on this album are her weakest, which is a pity because I want to love this album, it’s sonically among her best.

CoCC’s production is more intimately mixed than her other work - less reverb, and walls of sound, it ends up sounding compressed, earthy and bare, so I can understand how it sounds “ugly” in comparison to her other work (UV was aggressive sounding but drenched in reverb), but, that’s what I love about it ?

As a fan from day one, COCC is possibly my favourite Lana album - dark, neurotic, and eccentric. My favourite moment in the record is probably the second verse of Wild At Heart, where she breaks the melody into a monorhythm with one of her darkest lyrics ever, talking about the possibility of undoing all her sobriety, and thus all of the work she has ever been able to make since committing to it - in essence, a world without Lana Del Rey, which is a theme she has been hinting at since Swan Song on each of her albums, that reflex of self-destruction. Ugh, COCC is great.

I mean she said it herself, LFL was for the fans, and I love many of the songs on it, but it’s a crowd pleaser, and reads as such - pleasing, but not her best work. 13 Beaches is phenomenal though!

Damn ladies, it’s not like she was a social media butterfly ? the music (and second album this year, possibly of three), which got us here in the first place, is just around the corner, as is even more music for likely years to come. I say let the artist who feeds us do whatever she needs to do to keep doing just that.

It would never happen, but my dream cover would be All Flowers In Time by Jeff Buckley. are we sure it’s still American Standards though? She just called it a covers album on this occasion (delulu)

Someone with Spotify said they sound the same on there, can’t confirm myself. Don’t know about shipping. The video includes the following track “Interlude - the Trio” at the end, I originally mistook it for being only in the video - we won’t have it on streaming till release. ??

(The asshole designer in me wants the font on the cover to be replaced by the one on the actual disc lol don’t hate me I should be grateful after the last cover)

There are definitely new synths on WW, and the vocal production is warmer, and the 8-bitty drums at the end are slightly lower in the mix. Crazy how the smallest production changes can let a song shine more. Love

Is it just me or is Wildflower Wildfire on the album remastered? The vocals and the piano are definitely different. It sounds miles better!

I went for a run to listen to Arcadia, when the beat dropped I burst out cackling, the beauty and the AUDACITY. Love her. So hyped. Wish the video version was the album version but whatever

Honestly, I’d have preferred a shorter album sans the unreleased tracks, particularly if they haven’t been reworked, never much cared for LL, Thunder or Nectar - I’ll still have a great 12 track album tho ☺️
