The person I responded to do not understand why the need to change the sound of the song. And he does not know any other artist who does that. I'm just pointing it out maybe because A. The artist he likes is a flop who doesn't get radio play Or B. An artist that already has radio candy music. Nothing to do with taste or anything like that. Because in reality MANY artists do so Radio play is everything because you don't want to flop on a major label. Lana is not some unknown indie artist. She is A MAINSTREAM artist that makes non commercial music. Basically, she's indie but successful. She's grimes but successful hihi

Grimes is a flop and not played on radio so there. Maybe the artists you like already have radio music. For example, JT song mirrors is 8 minutes long. Do you think radio will play the 8 minutes version or the radio edit? Lady Fadga music is as mainstream as it gets but G.A.Y also have a radio edit. They have to do that for Lana because her music is not top40, it's not fast either. They want mainstream success but still keeping her grounded and acclaimed. They don't want her to flop like grimes hihi who will never be successful hihi

The answer is obvious tho. RADIO mix. A mix for radio. I'm guessing most stations don't play the song forcing Interscope to send them another mix. I don't see the problem here. Many artists have different mixes to there songs. This wouldn't have happened if Lana made radio candy music but the good sis stick to quality rather than top 40.

I'll take this over that Dan mix anyday. I think they might send this new mix to pop radio because the Dan mix was sent to alternative stations.

I love the new version. Truly a great mix for radio. The song change in tempo was on of the reasons why radio is reluctant to play it. Thankfully they got rid of that and now the song is more fluid to the ears I suppose.

Yes. 1. The original FLAWLESS mix 2. The lame lazy edit by Dan Auerbach for radio because apparently the original is not radio friendly. 3. The longer Edit of the horrible mix above. 4. THIs FLAWFREE real radio mix. 2 & 3 should have never happened. They messed everything up including the performance of the song because they removed the original on itunes when they should have uploaded this real radio mix separately from the original and have two versions up.

It's not that new/different It's similar to the Summertime Sadness radio mix. OMG!! I love it!!!

The preview on ichunes is 1:30. The one on soundcloud is shorter. Someone needs to rip longer one.

Summertime Sadness is getting dat promo First Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook CEO) said he listens to the song in front of millions of people during a conference. Then some girl on American idol perform the song infront of millions as well. I wish it was "West Coast" getting the promo tho.

:clap3: Yass, and don't forget the pre order mess in the UK. The first hype of pre orders got the song inside the top 40. But Interscope is dumb for removing the song, The pre orders are gone and the new one can't even crack the top 200 West Coast was meant to be a sure FIRE #1 hit in the UK but unfortunately that wont be happening now. Poor Lana. oh well, we still got the music.

The new version of West coast on iTunes is "West Coast". They deleted the original and replaced it.... Like.. On Spotify, the original is Rob Orton mix. And this is going to flop in the UK as well due to the removal of the song. The pre orders were all GONE because of it. Utter mess. I still the love the ORIGINAL. I really really hope the video contains the original audio.

they are not the same. 0.o Rob Orton is GRAMMY winning mixer. He mixed the original track. They obviously can't replace the original one on spotify or she'll lose all the streams so they rename it. They add the New one which is actually the Dan Mix they call it the original "West Coast".

There are two versions. The original is Rob Ortin mix and new one is simply "West Coast" West Coast gives me a different vibe compared to her past singles. It's not sad. Ride made me cry, Young and Beautiful made me cry, Born To Die made my heart swell esp the epic strings the last part of the song. Video Games: as soon as you heard the voice, the first words. goose bumps everywhere. When I first heard "West Coast" I feel "Ok" not sad. I feel "cool" I guess. Like I want to put on some shades while listening to the song. Her voice used to be DEEP, scorn and sad. There's a bit of that on the chorus but that's it. Not much on the verse.
