No I agree. Not to get too far off topic but feminism was never supposed to be about hating men and I don't think it's particularly helpful to the (original) cause when it veers in that direction. Of course the patriarchy is something we should aspire to dismantle, and it's okay to point out ways in which it exists and how women are disadvantaged by it (and vice versa), but that's different to what she's expressing, imo. ETA: Obviously she has some anger, and it's okay to express that - but I want to hear her go deeper than just "men own this" and "men did that" over and over. I am absolutely sure that she, like every other woman in music, has been screwed over by powerful men in record companies, etc - and as someone a few posts up said, where are the details

The song I most want to hear is Kintsugi It's really interesting to me that she chose this title because in an IG live just after NFR dropped, I really wanted to know what the lyric in FIILY was (at the time we did not know it was "jazz is in my veins") And I knew cos she didn't follow me that I'd have to spam the shit out the question for her to even see it in the chat. But I was very dedicated to the cause, and right at the end I was just like "WHAT IS IN YOUR VEINS?????" and she finally saw it because she said, "What's in your veins? Gold" without any hesitation and it was so amazing and hilarious because she didn't answer the question at all but her answer was even better than if she'd actually answered And kintsugi is basically gold veins and I haven't stopped thinking about that

My friend and I were literally just saying this last night At some point (post Froot) it's like she just started writing what she thought people wanted to hear rather than genuine sentiments People pleasing does not work in relation to art She's been doing it for so long now that idk if she could really reverse it, though I still like some of her more recent work but a lot of it is cringe

Look I am a feminist as much as the next person but I am kinda sick of this "I hate men" stuph from her For the sake of artistic progression I think it's time to move on (or at least expand upon the sentiment instead of just "I hate men, they're horrible" every time) It seems very surface-level to me.

The sea has burnt out and nature has depleted It's come to a point where I no longer need to feel mistreated These stars won't rest for me Exploding now, the earth is super heated If I have one last wish One last dish, for you, a fruit platter with a legendary brew A quadrant of space inhabited by you My abyss don't darken in the depths from you I'm enlightened like Heaven Sour to the core like teardrop lemon Racing to the top it's my absolute obsession My abyss question Devoted Christian When I'm with you it's Armageddon

Usually I hate it when artists say they're gonna release something and then do not but in this case she should do herself a favour and say the file was corrupted

This is true It has no bearing whatsoever because I don't know her personally, but my brain can't compute "Liz" with her "Lizzy" and "Elizabeth", yeah, but she really doesn't seem like a Liz to me I'm obviously wrong af though

It's strange bc one year her friends (including Jen) made her a birthday cake and the cake said Lana But maybe they know each other better now and/or she has changed her mind about what she'd like to be called Very mysterious and confusion
