  1. On its 2nd birthday, it goes: 1. FIILY 2. MAC 3. Godtender 4. VB 5. Cinnamon 6. Doin' Time (because it's a cover and I cannot morally put it higher for this reason) 7. NFR 8. HIAB 9. California 10. Love Song 11. HTD 12. Hope (I know this looks bad but rn I'm trying to be cheery and it just doesn't work) 13. The Greatest (I'm sorry but it bores) 14. TNBAR (because she wrecked it) It hits different now because it was released back when life was normal and not dominated by a plague, so it makes me feel happy Normalise albums with 14 or more songs thank you and good day If anyone wants to argue and fight I'll be back later
  2. I'd prefer that she take her time and release a year from now than rush out a second album within 6 or so months of COCC. I think she gives us these dates and snippets and then feels pressured to release sooner rather than later. Fuck that.
  3. It's not inherently bad but how do Thunder and Cherry Blossom fit with those three singles and how do all five (and whatever else is on there) tie together to "get revenge" and all the other stuff she hinted at? I mean you can give her the benefit of the doubt as to her vision or whatever, but the simple fact is that it's just not looking very cohesive rn. Especially because we know she has changed it so many times.

Yeah there's always weird fucking noises when Jack Antonoff is involved and you just have to try to ignore them tbh. I can hear weird and imo unnecessary shit in almost every song and I'm blaming Jack because NFR was like that, too Like 2:21 in The Path. The fuck is that? A coyote?

One week on and I think my favourite song is definitely The Path. The lyrics are a serve and I love how it builds towards the end
  6. Extremely unlikely but this concept has the same vibe as Rock Candy Sweet to me We wish I know people are like, "tRuSt HeR vIsIoN" but at this point it seems like she needs some eyedrops
  7. This thread is confusion and idk what's going on but I maintain that new ideas > old ideas I realise that all artists draw upon older ideas occasionally but it needs to be proportionate and appropriate. If they all fit with the theme then okay but she's changed this so many times that I'm not confident that the vision is clear. You know, around the time of QftC she made it sound like she had all these earth-shattering thoughts and revelations that she was going to convey via her book and music, and now she's gonna put Thunder and Cherry Blossom on the album. WTF?
  8. The last picture has an outline suggesting it might be a vinyl design or something. But she's probably just trolling
  9. Why does she always delete the boob pictures It's a fascinating phenomenon If the post has boobs, it's on borrowed time
  10. A Lana theme park with a rollercoaster called NFR Pre-Release and a merry-go-round called Jack Antonoff Bumper cars that resemble little black trucks and do like 300 km p/h and you drive them with your feet on the dash
  11. I think, on paper, this album has some serious credentials with Zach, Dean and Drew - but I really hope there's more variety of sound than what the three singles demonstrated. We've all argued about those three singles to death so that isn't about that. But what I'm saying is that I think all three have the same foundation of lyrical complexity with very mellow background instrumentals. I don't object to either of those qualities per se, but I just really hope those aren't an indication of how the entire body of work is going to be, especially after BOZ's "it's an album of ballads" assertion.
  12. That is a BEAUTIFUL picture which is why she won't use it and will probably delete it tomorrow or something
  13. I mean she put the outline of the vinyl on it and quite often the vinyl design is also the cover design and I just Anyway at least J*** A******* is NOWHERE in sight. Somewhere out there Jared is having a breakdown
  14. Okay but fr as talented as those people are - if she makes that the album cover then I am absolutely designing my own, making it into a sticker, and putting it over it. I am SICK of being terrorised by b & w covers filled with peripheral humans
  15. The whole thing makes the cover somewhat prophetic, when you think about it.
  16. Not this bitch hinting that that's the vinyl design by putting the print outline on it I hate her sm But I guess idgaf as long as the music is good and there's a lot of talent in that picture
  17. Courtney's latest IG caption refers to "weird lawsuits" (and also working w Justin Parker). I mean I'd be very surprised if there wasn't a verbal agreement, at least - and if there wasn't, why didn't his parents object when it was released or any time since? He should be mad at his 'rents and not Nirvana imo. But I am also sorry he feels that way and I'd imagine they'd reach a settlement and change the cover.
  18. I haven't watched it yet but I bet she forgot she even made this and then randomly found an old USB behind her couch or something with it on there
  19. My first thought was "well, why isn't he suing his parents who signed him up for this?" but apparently nothing was ever signed (or so the suit alleges). It's a difficult situation. At the very least any new copies that are made should have a new cover, imo. Idk if they'd still be printing copies all these years later, although it's an iconic album so probably.
  20. Idk how I feel about this (although of course it's not my decision or life so I'm not judging him). One on hand, he has a right to feel this way, but on the other, it's clear that this cover is not, and never was, intended to be sexual in any way, shape or form. I have always interpreted the cover as depicting how innocence is corrupted by capitalism and greed. I think Kurt would be devastated if he were alive and aware of this. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-08-25/baby-from-nirvana-nevermind-album-cover-sues-band/100406408
  21. Idk if this is because of what I said but that's not what I was saying. I'm talking about new versus old ideas. An over reliance on the latter could indicate a lack of the former. (Could - not does - before anyone jumps)
  22. Like I said - not judging until I hear the album but from a creative perspective: new ideas versus old ideas? No contest. With that said I'm not opposed to her revamping and releasing older material at all, but five on one album is a bit of a red flag imo
  23. Idk what's right and what's real anymore, but if it's true that there are 5 outtakes on this album then that tells me that she's struggling to come up with new ideas and it's not a good sign from a creative perspective. Obviously I'm not going to judge an album I haven't heard but it makes me very apprehensive. The only good reason I can think of for doing that would be if the theme is somehow retrospective, but even then ...
