  1. Lmao guys I did not start my campaign until after the majority of people voted, and I've only been on these boards every so often. @@Constantine is so fucking hot and he's so deserving of the award, especially as he has a much longer and consistent history with LanaBoards.

I appreciate all the support, but let's not make @@Constantine feel bad about his win.

Thank you for putting everything together @! It kept me on these boards when I would've probably not been back!

  2. Today my boss caught me looking at this thread over lunch and he asked me what the Lipster Awards were. Lol.

He asked me if I was nominated for something but I said I was not as there is no way I can explain what the Be My Daddy award is to my 45 year old straight boss

  3.

This seems really unnecessary to me and is why I hate the internet. Partly because I think his name is just coincidence and that if "Ray" refers to any real person and isn't just a name she likes, it's probably Arthur Lynn. Of course, I could be wrong about that. But either way, we're seriously gonna drag some random innocent girl, who's probably perfectly nice and looks perfectly fine, just because she's not as hot as a celebrity her presumed significant other had some tenuous connection with? Also disappointing considering it's coming from someone who has himself suggested he once was less attractive than at present.

Man, one of the things I hate most about this fanbase is how Lana's emphasis on style and glamour (especially during the BTD phase of her career) really seems to have attracted a lot fans that focus on superficialities.

Correct to catch me on my fault re: invasion of someone's privacy. However, to be clear I was not talking about the girl - I was talking about the guy who seemed to have let himself go. Still superficial and petty, admittedly.

  4. ^agreed with Off To The Races. That, plus the stripped back Summertime Sadness used in the music video, Blackest Day, and some more upbeat songs as well.

To be honest unless she's taking the breakup with Francisco poorly I don't think she'll have a lot of dark material to work with in this album. She's talked about how she more or less said everything she wanted to say regarding her life in Ultraviolence/BTD/Paradise and that HM was less autobiographical. I think that she's not going to have so much to share in this next album as well so I'm thinking it will be less dark.

To be honest I don't see Lana going experimental. I could definitely see an album fleshed out with songs similar in sound to Ridin' and Prisoner however.

  5. Lana has her famous BTD trilogy, which is supposed to be Video Games, Blue Jeans, and Born to Die, all centering around the same guy (though there are many that would say multiple men are being sung about).

I was wondering if you guys had your own trilogies? One of the great things about Lana's music is that it is relatively consistent in its subjects and themes, leading to easy story creation through linking songs. For me, I only have one that I have really put together as a trilogy, considering them to all be related to each other, seen below. However, I think there are more if I thought about it more which is why I'm asking you guys.

    For me:
    1. Queen of Disaster

    2. Beautiful Player

    3. Making Out

    The story:
(Part 1) A young Lana finds the man of her dreams while she is unsuccessful, and they share in their misfortunes together. They're King and Queens of the New York scene. (Part 2) Lana then finds out he's a player but she continues to love him anyway as she feels he completes her and accepts her in her faults, and she his, wholly and completely. This relationship continues but as his money improves from his drug dealing, he starts seeing other women even more and Lana realizes that he will never reciprocate her love. (Part 3) This leads to our New York City Queen deciding to start seeing other men on the side, as well. He finds out and tries to win her sole affection and attention back, and she does love him and attempts to continue seeing him. However, she ultimately decides that she's better off relying on the money she makes being with these other men and rejects her beautiful player.

  6. Guess everyone has their own opinions, but I'd rank Swan Song among the better tracks of this album. The chorus is simply iconic, so simple yet so powerful and enchanting. I fell in love from the very first listen.

Me too. I can't believe there are people that don't like it.

That and the Interlude are probably the most played so far, closely followed by The Blackest Day and HBTB.

I don't really care about Salvatore, if only for the name connection to Backfire.
