ya im fuckin BORED mate!  been doin this shit TOO LONG.  ofc im gonna be pissed at Lana - she has given not even a good song to listen to.. D:  the fact yall think im offended or sensitive is confusing to me???  i am lit rally just talkin shit.  everyone having the same fkn perspective is boring.

damn I didn't ask for you to degrade yourself like that

its a fkn joke, chill. it's just the internet.  tbh i think the real problem is that so many people have disassociated rage.  They just wanna wile out somewhere but there's nowhere to be wild anymore, you know?  but at the same time, the world is so wild...

    Is that all?

yep, that's all... im just an ignorant anon commenter with no friends, talent, backstory, interesting traits, worthwhile perspective, or valid opinions /s :( and even i can tell Lana's struggling with her health & well being lol

  4. 6 minutes ago, Herzeleid said:

Baby.. who are you to speculate about her health and well being? That's none of your business and to be honest thats really disrespectful to insinuate that she's got something wrong with her. Quite embarrassing too.

Bold of you to defame her while using her pic.

im an anonymous internet commenter, jus like you

your indoctrination along with all of the other young hard left internet activists (me years ago). i'm actually pointedly not nihilistic it's just reality that Lana Del Rey's opinion is an abstract thing she could say the N word and people would get upset but ultimately it's inconsequential. she has a celebrity platform not the power to pass laws and launch missiles. isn't it ironically racist to think that poc are so sensitive and vulnerable they need to be defended from opinions? what matters to me is that people stop identifying so much with victimhood because i know how blinding and burdensome it is

lol you clearly do not know me, so i'm just gonna ignore your projection here re: indoctrination.  i agree that Lana Del Rey's opinions don't mean very much in the grand scheme.  as i said a couple posts up, i'm here for the entertainment and discussion.  calling out Lana's obvious ignorance about the political issues she brings up, on a Lana fan site, isn't really a crusade for justice, just more internet comments.

i think it's really interesting you're also projecting identifying with victimhood on me, other users, or POC Lana fans who think she's on some dumb shit lol.  no one's saying people are so sensitive, vulnerable, or need to be defended from opinions except literally you and Lana ... didnt she just post a 5 minute video on insta ab how she's being attacked and victimized?  i can't.  i hope you sort out your issues ma'am.

i personally think it's more ignorant to surrender your brain to indoctrination and allow yourself to  become part of the rat race. girl dont you want to think for yourself and realise that none of this really matters like at all?

    whose indoctrination?

but wow yeah "none of this really matters" - nihilism, another tired take.  wasn't Lana the one who said "i'm literally changing the world"?

if people are actually upset by what this one random celebrity has said they need HELP girl they need therapy. bitches choose to be upset :toofloppy:

i recognize that the revolution is not gonna happen in Lana's comments on insta, but people deal with real issues in real fuckn life.  it's not just nothing.  we're living in an unprecedented time where people's survival is hanging in the balance bc of real, important issues Lana herself decides to bring up and butcher.  we're discussing issues of race, politics, privilege, poverty, etc. on Lanaboards only because Lana brought the shit up and centered herself in these issues.  if it doesn't matter to you, what do you really even have to say about the matter?

sorry hun, unlike lana I don't feed the trolls. I wasn't placing myself above sjw's (a loaded term but useful descriptor for people who spend hours on a website scrutinizing a celebrity;s word for any misspeak or fauz pas. I used to be an sjw. Then I learned empathy and perspective. self-righteous shaming doesn't actually fix the world or the people in it. I feel no rush, in fact it is absolutely exhausting to deal with such bad faith actors. Yawn.

Doesn't Lana look great in the video of her and her friends dancing?

lol bitch i logged on for the  music video and stayed for the breakdown.  Lana is an entertainer, and her making a fool of herself by playing woke is entertaining to me, call it schadenfreude idk idc, she's a fuckin millionaire public figure.  i'm not shaming anyone, im kiki-ing with the other fags ab a cultural moment featuring an artist i used to connect with.  can i really be called a "bad faith actor" on a pop star fansite?  what's my agenda in yer eye, to ruin her career?  the rush of feeling morally superior?  lol i'd really be self-righteous if i thought lanaboards comments had that power

  8. 1 minute ago, HillSongExHomoCantor said:

sjw's don't care. It's not actually about what the problematic person says, it's about the rush they get of feeling morally superior

isn't this what youre doing right now? placing yourself above this monolith of "sjw"s?  how's the rush?

Okay that was my favorite Question for the Culture episode. If y'all keep on misunderstanding her then it's on you :toofunny:

i think a lot of people understand her just fine but disagree.  If y'all keep on enabling your own ignorance then it's on you :toofunny:

  10. imagine if instead of posting or saying anything lana has said the past two days, that she jsut posted that video of her having fun and left it..  maybe people would actually talk ab the song/video instead of all this other insanity

Annie specifically asked her how she feels about 2020, and even said that she asks everyone on the show and gets a wide range of interesting answers. Eventually she tried to redirect to the music, but let's not pretend Annie was like "tell us about the album" and Lana was like "well actually, politics..." Annie even cut her off at one point when she started talking about the music to say hi to her cats.

As for Complex, I don't know how anyone could read their headline and the implications that came with it and think that they were being fair. They knew exactly what they were doing, and they absolutely deserve to be dragged for it.

i disagree ab Annie.  to me, she sounded more uncomfortable the more the interview went on.  i don't think Annie expected the interview to go the way it did, with Lana mostly ranting about whatever was on her mind, i.e. politics, race optics, etc.  She didn't ask her any questions about the capitol riots or trump or anything.  Lana brought that up.  she asked her about her comment on the album art, because Lana posted an insane comment.

i don't think Complex was necessarily being fair, but they were doing what publications that rely on clicks and views do - post some shit people will click on.  and they used actual quotes and shit.  i don't think Lana is a trump supporter, but voting for Biden doesn't excuse ignorance.  really, she could have just sat that and not said anything.

God just let this woman alone. She may messed up sometime but you can tell she's not malicious or anything so why trying to make her look bad and like a republican when you KNOW she never supported Trump? I mean there are some REAL fucked up artists. Lana may not be the typical "woke" girl you may want, but she's not fucking ignorant and evil like they want to show her. I would be mad too.

boo we know she didn't support Trump.  but voting for Biden doesn't make someone not racist.  Biden is a racist (and a rapist at that but thats another issue).  Lana IS ignorant.  i don't think she's intentionally malicious.  but the only reason anyone is talking about this is because she brought it up herself,  she didnt need to but she did.  she brought this allllllll on herself.  and now shes continuing to fuel the fire.

What color do y'all think the next album vinyl will be?

    brown.

  14. Annie Mac: how've you been dealing with 2020?

    Lana: *starts ranting ab politics*

Annie Mac: let's talk ab the sound of this record

Lana: *gets distracted then starts ranting ab politics*

    (the next day)

Lana: why can't we just talk about the music? i was directly asked political questions!

    ----

Lana: *singlehandedly creates a storm ab racism, politics, etc, totally unprompted*

Complex: here's an article about Lana's comments

Lana: WHY are people writing things about the things I've said?!??!

as Lana works in the entertainment industry, i do have to say

    i am entertained.

    that being said -

Lana is racist.  Megan Fox is right.  Beyonce would never do anything like this.  Red heads deserve what they get (jk).  I will without a doubt listen to the new album when it comes out in March 2021.

i fkn called it and didnt even have to cook my cat into a soup.

She's built her entire career glamorizing American history without a single mention of how the entire country she "loves" is built upon violence, carnage, millions of dead bodies, and complete disregard for life.  If it wasn't official before (and tbh I havent been a fan for a while) I cannot be a fan of Lana at the fuck all.  She has all this money and privilege and a massive platform with millions of fans doting on her every word, and she's doing jack shit with it.  What a fucking waste.

    "literally changing the world"

  17. Let's not pretend this is out of nowhere.  Ms. Grant has been dropping hints that she's an ignorant racist since the before the Ride video.  I'm personally guilty of looking the other way at times, but damn.  It's just impossible to defend at this point.

"Blowing up her own ego" is exactly the main impression I got from this article. Even if I enjoyed the parts where she discusses music or some aspects regarding daily life, the fact that her and Jack act as if they were some kind of omniscent genius bugs me off. Lana talks as she's eaten all the stuff the critics said about her last year ("a laureate poet of a world on fire" or whatever), and Im happy that she acknowledges she is talented, but what made me feel close to her since I knew her was how foot-on-earth she was, and how self-aware of her ignorance on some topics she seemed to be too, as it seemed to push her to explore deeper from her artistic perspective. She's always had a quite intuitive way to approach to reality, even if not always educated, she's always been good intentioned and sharp in her own ways, and I've always appreciated that honesty a lot. Now reading her talking about how she thinks she knows about everything while dropping the comment on how people will look more on genetics to know about their psychological issues... She obviously isnt aware still, at her 35 years, that most people in the world arent ruminating at their LA mansions about the "culture", but facing huge structural problematics related to the possibility and struggle to materially survive, and that mental health may have a lot more to with that than with intuitive healers or whatever she thinks she knows and we dont.

She's definetly eccentric and has a quite egotic and privileged way to look at the world, and I guess that may be part of her enchantment as weird and genial as she is. Not genial on the omniscently way she thinks she is, but in the confusing, sensitive and beautiful sense I think she gets to approach to the world.

She's random, clumsy and very smart too. Truly wanting to listen to whatever she's been working on.

all of this.  i think it's really myopic for her to literally say she's always right and knows everything then show a complete lack of perspective on even the issues she brings up.  i think it's wildly arrogant for her to bring up genetics and mental health but appear completely ignorant about how even current mental illness diagnoses are not based on scientific pathology at all and that claims that some mental illness is caused by "chemical imbalance" are untested, unproven, and ... yeah just not backed by science or evidence.  she knows everything and is always right, but can't understand how people took issue with her name dropping Black artists to criticize how she's been criticized?  thinking the new wave of feminism should center delicate, albeit famous and rich, white women?  it's like she has ideas about stuff but doesn't feel the need to actually look into it besides what her instinct tells her - like this:

A genius that doesn't view writing as a craft but as something that just comes to your brain half-formed and perfect on the basis of it being hers... right.

like we all don't have the ability to write stream of consciousness and have it turn out alright some times.......  this shit gets to me.  is it like, um, excuse me, she is channeling her glorious muse???? because sometimes it's just called inspiration and it just comes from your own brain.  i think creativity and artistry can totally be divine, and i believe in channeling tbh, i have even received poems that just come to me and i write them down, but at the end of the day it's like-- ok that's still you, the person, the artist, taking inspiration from whatever source and relaying it, editing it, etc.  if she's channeling her poems from some ethereal muse, why are they all 100% about her specific life? "took a ride off a billionaire's jet" etc etc.

she's not really discussing the human condition, or the nature of the universe, or whatever deep shit she thinks she is.  she's talking about her own experiences, a very specific type of life, only available to a pretty white woman in America with money and the free time and lack of obligations required to ponder about love and not knowing your partner instead of like... how to make rent without getting incarcerated.

that whole interview made me realize that @Vertimus was right about one thing (tho maybe just the one thing) -- Lana's air of mystery and intrigue went a looooong way for letting fans project what they wanted onto her and her artistry. and now that she's being open and voicing her opinions, it's clear that she's one of those people who thinks she's the deepest thing since the mariana trench when really her perspective barely scratches the surface of reality
