  1. Oh god I had hoped the NFR smearing would end after CoCCs release. Can we just enjoy those beautiful new songs and be happy they are not another country-club-snoozefest?
  2. CoCc suffers from the same problems LFL did - indeciseveness, too many second thoughts and last-minute changes and an overdue collaboration with a producer that list its spark. While LFL was crowded and needed some trimming COCC turned out too short and felt unfinished. Both were released right after one of her artistic peaks. I hope that means CoCc will be a palate cleanser just like LFL was and that BB - just like NFR - will be a return to forte. The triple singles indicate that this could actually be the case
  3. Nah. I don't habe to like everything Lana does for the sake of it I don't think so. I just feel like they had too many ideas, too much content and then instead of deciding for one concept, they just squeazed ALL OF IT into this video. No? It's not like the video wouldn't be overloaded and hectic. You may like it and think that's great but me not feelong otherwise about it is totally valid xoxo
  4. Nah. It may be high budget but the concept and the postpro is so messy, hectic and overloaded that it hurts
  5. I think she's singing about Sean in this song. He's a Cop and shared Blue-Lives-Matter content. So I guess that line indicates they had a fall out over her protesting for BLM. He saw she did not fit his worldview
  6. Maybe it's a reference to her former Lolita-persona. The author of that book was russian-american
  7. Yup I really feel that too. By now, I'm getting excited when she's using her low-register vocals again
  8. Mazzy Star lyrics are over the top metaphorical though and not as outspoken and personal as the ones on those three singles. CoCc and NFR had a few Mazzy Star moments but none of the new songs go into that direction with their sound or songwriting
  9. Yeah but dropping 10 random names per song is just weak songwriting and loses its charm really quickly
  10. No more homemade videos pls
  11. I hate how people here act like this absolute laziness would be a sign of high artistic profile. It's not like she has to either do a National Anthemesque visual OR a potatoe quality selfie. You can do great visuals with a low budget and without much effort. If she does not want to do photoshoots, she could just use an animation, a painting or whatever.
  12. I think the BLM line does not carry over to the following lines at all. It just means that Sean saw her protesting for that cause and that ended up seperating them cause he understood she held different values than him (being a Blue Lives Matter jerk), I don't think "I screamed for them" refers to black people or the protest at all, but to "God, I wish I was with my father, he could see us in all our splendor" - meaning that she tried to hang onto the perfect-couple-vibes she and Sean were gving off. If her and Sh*tsticks really had a fall out because of BLM it could explain why she posted that messy insta comment about POC on her album cover ...
  13. Haha yeah, that rhyme is her "candle in the wind" for this era. I think it was nicely used in MW, but the PTP verse ... ugh, that was a big cringe.
  14. I can't remember replaying an upbeat pop song so often at any point within the last year. ADIAML is such a great tune and it really sets a good context for MW and PTP. Hyped for that album!
  15. I totally get what you mean with the song structures but both WFWF and TB have a pretty obvious chorus, haven't they?
  16. I feel like that album could be the natural continuation after NFR, just like NFR was a great follow up to HM and HM made so much sense after UV. The creation of CoCC and LFL were rooted in so much indecisiveness, last-moment changes and suffered from an overdue collab with a certain producer - thus they kind of don't flow smoothly with the rest of her discog, even though they have some nice moments.
  17. Haven't felt that emotional about a Lama song since I listened to NFR for the first time. She's back and I can't wait for the album
  18. The cover is a joke, but whatever. The songs are all GREAT, they are superior to half of CoCC - and I'm pretty sure I don't just feel like that because they are new. I can't decide whether I prefer Text Book or Wilflower Wildfire. TB ha those intriguiging verses, while WFWFs mood and those low register vocals are just perfect. Blue Banisters is a pretty song and I like the message but it's a bit too similar to CoCC-era songs for me to instantly love it (although it already outshines most of the COCC tracks). Although all of them are stripped back balalds, they are so much more effective than everything on CoCC. Lana seems to be much less lethargic, there is more fire in her voice again.
  19. Yeah, NFR was pretty nice since it had this Fiona-Apple-vibe and MACalso had a pretty nice melody. But at least in my personal opinion, I really don't think his piano-work has a lot of detail or complexity. It's solid, yet extremely straightforward. But yeah, we'll see how the Mike Dean collab will turn out
  20. It's a piano-ballad rework of Boarding School
  21. Honest question: Which piano songs did he do that showcase his talent? Neither MassEducation nor Melodrama were very impressive in that department.
  22. Could be true, but the date on this files could mean a lot of different things. Maybe he copied/duplicated the original file for some reason or something because of the upload on streaming services. Or he just edited it to his collection on that particular laptop on may 17th
  23. Her best song since the FROOT era. Eclipse's "video game with a badass character" description was pretty on point. Listening to the three singles really makesPTP and Man's World sound more interesting. I'm ready for this album!
