It's a good album that has a lot of "grower" potential.
Some tracks like Kintsugi, Grandfather or Margaret feel a bit stale although they still are not bad and the vocal delivery/ melodies are really good.
Big fan of the "Side A" part of the record with the more lush, ethereal vibe. I feel like the album isn't incoherent, but it's a shame that aspect gets entirely lost on the second half.
Both interludes are way too long.
The trap influences are nice to have although I feel all of them have been executed in a slightly halfassed way. The artistique value of layering messy babbling and of key harmonies is not really rocking it and I would prefer the tracks to have a bit more focus - e.g. Taco Truck could have been beautiful as a full song.

Can't really get the excitement behind Grandfather. It's cute but I find it quite uneventful (similar to Margaret)

I can't believe I ordered a vinyl in December f9r a specific date and they still have not dispatched it ... c'mon fnaaaaac

Y'all manage too sugarcoat every single stupid thing she does and turn it into a "media is treating her bad for no reason" narrative. May it be reckless driving videos, the mesh mask or Judah Smith

Have not really listened to the full album yet, but I skipped thorough the leaks and I have tge feeling that I will belong to the minoroty on here who prefers the first half of the album.
SpoilerFishtails does nothing for me. Kinda disappointed after seeing it being hyped af here. Lyrics are nice but the trap stuff fails to excite me. It lacks the elegance of Freak/ Cherry/ CG/ TJF in my opinion.
On the other hand, I did not have high expectations for Candy Necklace and it turned out to be one of my favs

All you guys do is complain ... It wouldn't hurz nobody to have this track finally being released. And there wouldn't even a reason to whine about how it takes the "space of new music" (which y'all hate too judging from the TG release) on album either. So why can't we just be excited about it?

The hoody is one of the first merch items I'm tempted to buy from her, but its a shame it can't be ordered without a CD/vinyl (aat least not in Grmany it seems)

We just got a beautiful classic Lana track and y'all are so bored you decide to keep feeding the troll ...

Lol you really did your best to prove their point

Never had much of an opinion on the cover, but I saw it on vinyl for the first time yesterday and it actually looks iconic!

Saw her live a few days ago and I really really loved it, but I can still not get into her albums. The recorded versions of the tracks all feel so sugarcoated and overproduced

Lana Del Rey - Honeymoon 7.5
Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions - Through The Devil Softly 6.7
Goldfrapp - Tales of Us 6.1
Beth Gibbons - Out Of Season 5.7
Massive Attack - Heligoland 5.0
So not only do they generally not have reviews for a lot of my favourite albums - Portishead's self titled, anything by Melanie De Biasio or Elysian Fields, most of Lamb's discography, Agnes Obel's Aventine, Archive's Londinium, The Magnificent Tree by Hooverphonic, ... - they also rate them like sh*t.

Oh so another namedropping track ...ugh. it was ok on BB but we really don't need it for every other song. Already really disliked the way she did it on DTWD

8 hours ago, Shadylady said:I think she kinda ripped lorde off tbh. The concept of two songs blended together, plus the transition that happens at the same time in both songs with a very similar beat. If Lana could get lorde for copyright on stoned at the nail salon, I think lorde could get Lana for this song. I love both artists but when I heard A&W for the first time, I immediately thought it sounded like a lorde song.
Lol whut. Lorde did not event 2-in-1 songs with a beatdrop. SATNS literally had the same melody as WAH

Hm I hope so. I mean, part of the visualizer with her mood changing from sad to faux-happy as soon as the camera is on with her struggling to keep up the act are pretty great and fit the track. A full video for CN would be dope though
