  1. Is Courtney Love like... quite anti-military? Looking at her comment and Lana's caption that's the only connection I can make- she's not too happy with Lana gunning for the military (pun not intended)
  2. People who speak to celebrities like this are such sycophants lmao. She's not going to ask you to be her friend because you commented on her picture.
  3. She should really do Bel Air live. NFR vibes without actually having to sing anything from NFR
  4. You forgot one (1) verse of yayo and the burnt norton instrumental when she touches a couple of fans and everyone standing runs forward and gets crushed. When I saw her live the part of the concert post-BN was awful, I could barely breathe, but at least this was when she started with body electric
  5. Every single time she posts I fall for it, I f-cking fall for it ms nfr, can you hear me
  6. Apparently in the same Moby book he claimed he dated a young (20yr old) Natalie Dormer, who's come out to say that she was 18, didn't date him, but when she met him he was inappropriate. If so thank g-d Lana's out here saying he's a WASP that would be guillotined in a revolution lmao, I stan one (1) woman
  7. LANALYSIS didn't spend years of time and brainpower to pick through her songs for them to be about.... Moby.....
  8. To give my two cents on the second point- criticism is a lot harder to face than praise is. The people who would leave comments on the YT video of Hope saying it's boring or that they're not looking forward to NFR would impact her more than the people who left negative comments. This isn't to say that the people leaving negative comments aren't entitled to their opinion- they absolutely are, comment sections are there for a reason- but as we know from the legendary 'I'll pray for you Cathy' et al comments, she does read the comments and does let them negatively impact her.
  9. The changes in who she is aren't the problem though. It's the flat-out lies. Someone she worked with aaaaaages ago made a comment on when she started chasing fame as Lizzy Grant, saying she cut her hair and started acting completely different. There's a massive, massive difference between acting out a persona, a la Electra Heart, and insisting on the authenticity of a character created by a bunch of studio execs to sell to an audience.
  10. Read her interviews, especially ones around the time of the SNL performance when people starting digging into her past and accused her of being inauthentic and the LDR character being a lie. She'd get really defensive, insist she changed her name and ONLY her name, that her songs were about her experiences, that she wasn't playing a character. She lied. She made money from those lies. She built a fanbase around those lies. Excuse me for not liking the fact that I was sold bare-faced lies, especially when this NFR-unreleasing hillsong-attending wannabe-baddie person is who she might really be.
  11. Yeah, so so glad she managed to find homophobic saddies for friends she really hasn't done anything destructive since being friends with them. Like holding off on an album for so long critics are getting bored, or driving in a car while filming and posting it to ig. So glad she dropped her last round of 'homeless drug addicts or schizos' (classy) for those angels. It's the fact she dropped the poverty-porn persona the second she realised singing about diamonds and rich daddies would get her further than pretending to be a 'trailer park queen' but alright, pretend like people are being irrational. u do u.
  12. Ummmmmmmmm I am gay for ms del rey.... 5 months of notifs on and I am blown away......,,,,,, I know she's probably going to disappear for like 2 months minimum after this because Doin' Time and NFR will have such different vibes, but I'm praying she uses the momentum generated from a radio impact to build excitement and remind everyone that NFR exists, and drop it before the end of August. Hope is a keysmash, but I kinda have it
  13. I'll never be able to go to the cinema again because of this NFR mess. All the 'COMING SOON's in the trailers will just give me flashbacks.
  14. Idk, I can vibe with her rejecting standards of beauty. I lowkey like the Hope cover (drag me)- it's like I'm sitting next to her and she's showing me the song, or watching her while she's doing the iPad bit from the song or whatever. A professional photo wouldn't have gone with the vibe of the song, which is a glimpse into her thoughts and feelings at the time. If NFR is alive and not a complete mess then I'm guessing that'll be the theme. Candid, raw, a departure from her old image. One of the most glammed-up women dropping the facade that beauty and submission are easy or worthy things to strive for is pretty powerful, especially in the Trump era. But then she turns around and goes to Hillsong with friends who def seem homophobic. So idk what to think.
  15. I wouldn't call her plain at all. With no makeup and glamour she's still stunningly beautiful. I think taking issue with a woman in her mid thirties not wanting to go to the same lengths in terms of makeup and dress she went to in her twenties when she was getting famous is a bit iffy. I'd be really open to this era of going more natural and focusing on her art if she was focusing on her art at all. If she wanted to take a break, that's fine. The accusations of her being unprofessional aren't because she's not churning out music or indeed taking a break, but because she's giving us radio silence about an album we were promised 'at the top of the year.' I wonder if she will go back to the name Elizabeth, particularly with the references to the Elizabethan era in her poetry. If she wants to shed the Lana persona and who she used to be I'd be interested in seeing that. It must be hard keeping up the Lana stuff when so much of it is built on thinks she might want to move beyond, like K. Idk. Like I said, it would be interesting, but it's still shit being sold the idea of LDR and her authenticity. But I imagine it must be a thousand times worse for her, coming up with a persona, building an empire on it, and then being expected to remain as that person you created to get famous. Anyway leak NFR.
  16. No, I can f with her new stuff. MAC for example. Even HIADTFAWLMTHBIHI. No one wants her to go back to being a drug abuser or alcoholic, and when I saw her live she was dressed pretty simply, which made her voice even more powerful for me and the other people I went with. Tbh I wouldn't be nearly as pressed if her change didn't come with a big dose of resentment for her fans, like that live performance when she pretended she couldn't hear the people shouting cinnamon, or like having nothing on an album that's been teased for about a year except a tweet saying 'who knows when it'll be done' on a dead account.
  17. OT but reading this thread really makes me want a matcha latte. Do they taste good enough to become basic for? Or should I stick to something that wouldn't look like it should be in the back of a mom-car tesla with no kids in the backseat? mod note: user was warned for this post
  18. I mean. She's an entertainer as well as a musician. Most musical artists these days are- there's a personality and visuals to go along with the music. There's a reason why a lot of artists- including Lana- have projected visuals during concerts. It's not her job to be a filmmaker, no, but it's annoying to go from someone who loved making homemade videos a la kill kill, VG, then BTD and NA when she got the budget, tropico masterpiece, etc, to someone that wastes my time replaying that iPhone footage of her with a butterfly. It could have been a cute video for one of them (if there had been more footage and it hadn't been replayed lol) but at this point it feels like she really can't be bothered with her career and is just doing what her contract requires and not caring about the actual art itself. And it's a very recent thing- LfL music videos felt a bit lackluster at the time (as did the whole album tbh) but looking back on the love and white mustang vids compared to VB and MAC... yikes. People have every right to be annoyed imo. She was so passionate about the visuals that came along with her videos for so long, but it's looking like we'll be watching her look at a butterfly for the foreseeable future. Makes me wonder what the old Lana would think of the new one. Coke and ice NYC underground scene meets cha cha matcha yoga-going insta baddie wannabe who's throwing her career away.
  19. Lmao I hate being That Person. Like other people have said, her teasing it really brings the mood down for me. Some of her music needs to grow on you or completely wow you- I feel like BTD or Lizzy songs you need to listen to a few times to get past the kind of manufactured feeling to them. Ultraviolence songs were ones that wowed me. I remember hearing WC for the first time and being completely floored. I'd be more hyped for cinnamon if I hadn't heard snippets from her ig. Like clampigirl said, it's hard to feel hype for it when I know what to expect
  20. I think I'm one of the few people that really couldn't care less about Cinnamon. Idg where everyone's getting that it'll be a bop from when all the snippets sound slow and what non-fans would call boring. And I have to admit, I'm tired of the vague references to food. Cinnamon from this and radio, Bacardi and different brands of beer, tangerines, vanilla and cola from the Lizzy days. I can't get soft-serve ice cream without hearing that weird laughing man from Salvatore, and now when I get cinnamon lattes I'll get that Melanie Martinez ah-ah-ah-ah stuck in my head.
  21. Eh. I'll listen to it, and enjoy it, but I'm not super hyped. The snippet she posted on her IG has the intro to TIWMUG demo vibes, which I can fuck with. Don't even want to think of what this means for NFR though.
  22. God, the l4l period was such a stunner compared to this. Having notifications on for her actually meant something. I agree with other people on here in that she's changed a lot since the beginning of making NFR. She seemed so happy on tour and happy meeting fans, going into the crowd... ugh. I think it's difficult for her to be in the music zone with her saddie friends and the energy they seem to bring. All for an artist changing and growing, personally and professionally, but completely losing any professionalism... sad. Someone posted her poetry to a fb group that makes fun of poetry, and someone pointed out that her lyrics are massively helped by the music behind them. They mostly list items or activities vaguely associated with Americana, and sang the right way with the right music, it can work. On a piece of paper? Summer Blue Forever (leak NFR)
