i don’t get why lana gets so mad when people say she has a persona? like it's baffling to me. she obviously does have a persona, or at least had for the first three albums she put out. and so many well respected artists had personas as well so it’s not like it’s an insult to her art.. if anything crafting a persona takes a lot of skill and careful storytelling so it’s a compliment. it’s like she wants to have her cake and eat it too. to be considered a completely genuine artist whose every song is autobiographical AND sing about drug lord boyfriends and taking on the role of a classic femme fatale at the same time. girl you gotta pick one

i feel the review was really well written actually, and it definitely had more praise than criticism. she even acknowledged lana’s place in the music industry and the influence she has. i’m honestly baffled as to what lana found so objectionable in such a tame article i don’t know i just think hating on reviewers for doing their job by analyzing and criticizing pieces of media isn’t the best idea (unless they’re being disingenuous or racist/misogynistic ofc)

as much as i love this album some of the songs sort of blend together. it’s not the sound i have a problem with, but the subject matter. she keeps going back to the same old subjects: partying, dancing, being in love with an asshole, partying and fame that’s been there for almost every album and it’s like.. that’s cool but i want more from her because i know she’s capable of more

my friends call me bitch all the time and it’s no biggie, but when a straight man calls me a bitch it’s fucking terrifying because it’s used in a different context and it’s meant to dehumanize me
