  1. wasn’t that for an h&m commercial? that was different
  2. she really is making a music video for a cover.. oh lana what are u doing
  3. i’m not saying it’s photoshopped but... it sure looks photoshopped
  4. she’ll fly a communist flag in the music video during the “eeevil” part mark my words
  5. not being a capitalist doesn’t make you a communist, you can be a social democrat, a democratic socialist, an anarcho communist etc etc
  6. she’s an enlightened centrist now.. lana i love u but god you’re such a dumbass sometimes
  7. i HATED hiab when i first heard it but listening to it now.. damn i really was a fool
  8. it’s partially misogyny and partially because critics are so disconnected from the tastes of younger people that they thought she would be just another flash in the pan that would be gone as fast as she came, and are now trying to make up for their earlier assumptions and trying to sound hip by showering her with praise
  9. i was gonna write a long ass paragraph about why reviewers who dissed her earlier albums are now giving her amazing scores across the board and ignoring some of her dumber lyrics and the terrible production on songs like htd but i don’t have the energy someone else do it for me
  10. i agree with all of this except brooklyn baby. switch her with the blackest day IMMEDIATELY
  11. alright ladies we all have different opinions about nfr but i think we can all agree: lfl was an ugly anomaly and nfr is a huge fucking step up
  12. i was underwhelmed when i first listened to nfr but truth be told i was underwhelmed when i first listened to honeymoon and ultraviolence too and nfr has been slowly growing on me the same way those two albums did
  13. huh i actually feel the opposite. i kinda dislike her voice in btd, not only is it way too low for her, at points it sounds auto tuned and filtered. she isn’t capable of making the same sounds live, if she doesn’t sing the songs in a slightly higher voice her performance becomes really inconsistent, like the snl performance. in every album since she has sounded much better and i think she’s incredibly expressive in nfr in particular
  14. it’s funny because even though most of my listening diet is slow songs that never build up to anything and i adore lana’s more subdued songs, there’s something about love song that makes me think there will be a crescendo and then it just never comes, leaving me unsatisfied
  15. that’s not weird at all it’s bound to happen when you’ve been waiting for something to come out for almost a year and you’ve been hyping it up in your mind so much no matter how great it is it can’t quite meet the imaginary standards you’ve set, it’s normal
  16. i love how her voice is almost shaking in cinnamon girl, like she’s overwhelmed with emotion and might cry at any second
  17. really? it actually does sound like play to me
  18. idk her at all but it’s seems like she’s just trying to articulate a problem she has with the music, i don’t think she’s being intentionally controversial
  19. not that i disagree with u sis but not stanning wife beaters is not political i hope we can all agree smacking your wife is pretty bad
  20. hmm honeymoon will always be the album that inspires me creatively the most but nfr is her most personal and emotional album so i can’t really call one better
  21. the instrumentals of how to disappear completely drown out lana’s beautiful crooning voice which is unfortunate considering the song is supposed to be simple and affecting and is instead an overproduced mess
  22. but wouldn't it be nice for her to take a dip in unfamiliar waters once in a while?
