Meh, whatever. It's crazy how this topic has exploded. Obviously those of you who are saying it glamorizes rape or is in bad taste are overlooking something. NOBODY HYPED THIS UP. NOT LANA, NOT THE DIRECTOR. The only reason people found it was because the director mentioned it briefly in an interview and crazy Lana fans scoured the internet for it. As I said before.. This is JUST A VIDEO. Not real life, not a retelling of true events. Sure it looks like she got raped... That was the point of the scene. The whole video is chaos and anarchy and all around bad things. So fucking what? People do this stuff in movies ALL THE TIME. It's just creative expression. Nothing about it glamorizes rape.

Most artists edit out breathing. I think it's cool that she leaves it in. It adds to her aesthetic and I think it goes perfectly with her statement about recording music the first time it is played. It will never be quite the second, third, etc. time around so to cut out the breathing would diminish the reality and freshness that Lana strives for.

I think what you all should remember is... This is a great way to make money. She no longer has to work on a new album next year. Since she hasn't played most of the songs live...that means she can make next year an ultraviolence tour. Which gives her more time to write. If she changed her tour to only ultraviolence songs now...people would get bored with the album. This way the songs are kept fresh and more people can learn them and make them popular. This is a brilliant marketing scheme. Lana's team knows exactly what they are doing.

Well as we know, Lana could give a shit about being on the radio. She had to fight with her label to keep most of the ultraviolence songs on the record. On the other hand, I truly believe that Gaga cares very much about being the best pop artist and having number one hits on the radio. I think she didn't listen to her label about what to put on her album and it did horribly. Like you said, I think she's doing damage control with this Jazz thing. Also, I don't know the name of the mentor but Lana has talked about him in multiple interviews.

All I said was I think it's interesting that they are both preaching about Jazz in the exact same points in their career. That can't just be a coincidence. Either one is copying the other, or the mentor they have in common told them both to try Jazz right now. Who cares if it's not exactly what you think Jazz is...that's what music is...it evolves, changes, grows, etc. And to the person who said Jazz has been a trend for 4 years...I BEG to differ. Please give me a few examples of this ever popular "Jazz trend" in the last 4 years. It's been a while since jazz has influenced music, unfortunately. At least main stream music.

You do know they had the same mentor...right. It's not far fetched. And I'm not saying anyone is "pulling ropes". The music industry is all about controlling artists though...it's sad you don't see that.
