It’s because they were already heading towards a creative roadblock
(this is my modern manifesto)
i respectfully disagreeSpoilerAll the songs on COTCC sound very Lana. I can’t see Taylor singing DTWD’s bridge (or the whole song)
or Lorde singing TJF would never happen
COTCC is very Lana and I do think the reason for the delay was because Jack wasn’t traveling back to LA. He also only worked on 1 of Taylor’s songs on Evermore and was working on his own projects in New York
editSpoilerNot to mention he worked with the other girls way before Lana

I lowkey want to erase the album off my phone so my streams will count for my 2021 playlist because right now my streams aren’t doing anything
-
I keep forgetting we’re a week and 2 days away from the office release
I remember being afraid of how slow this week was going to go, I can’t even imagine how slow it is for everyone who isn’t listening until the 19th

I like my coke analogy though, plus she laughs at the end. Why would you laugh after getting burned -

i feel like she means this conference? it was in orlando? i wouldn't call is a music conference though so i'm not sure
That makes sense!!The way I couldn’t find her in that pic -
2 minutes ago, AlexVirtuell said:What do you think "White hot forever" is supposed to mean in "TJF"? I feel like she is creating imagery with these terms. I image a white blazing desert and this feeling of endless fulfillment paired with despair of not seeing anything through the light. What about you? What do you think she means when saying "white hot forever"?
SpoilerI really think she is referencing coke..in between when she says “White Hot Forever” it sounds like she’s sniffing really loud
but I’m probably completely wrong

SpoilerI completely agree!!! TJF is the fullest song she’s made in YEARS. I can see why COTCC is before it in the tracklist, since it has a wall of sound build up, too!
i also love her thing together “if you never pray you’ll never know” and “I know you know what I know because you talk to god” in WAH!1 minute ago, honeybadger said:

Worst: bus, wild at heart just bc the whole recycling thing makes me cringe + let me love you like a woman
Idk about that but I hear like a roar in the “white hot forever” part
SpoilerI definitely hear a meow, or at least some sound effect
I hear a thunder!

Spoilerthat does make more sense!! I get the meaning but the sentence itself doesn’t make sense with men in music

SpoilerOkay. Am I going crazy or is there a cat meow in TJF at 1:41/1:42 after she says “ranch baby, [meow] I had to get away for awhile” I hear it in my right earphone.
I need answers. -
SpoilerI still don’t understand the “down at the men in music business conference” line like..
what about it, am I missing something (I’m genuinely asking)

I’d say low, since we just got confirmation last month that there was two cover albums instead of one, but with her we can’t be sure about anything

2 minutes ago, vipanonymous said:I think she will take a break after this. Next album only in 2024
i don’t see her taking a break quite yet! She still has two cover albums (that I still have hope she’ll release) and she’s been working with Zach on what we can assume is the next album! -
2 minutes ago, AlexVirtuell said:why is jack unavailable?
im pretty sure he’s home and staying there due to Covid (but I could be wrong!) she’s mentioned in two interviews now that he isn’t available1 minute ago, conceptart47 said:

I definitely see her dropping WD video with 0 fanfare, making maybe 1 or 2 Instagram posts about the album, and then ending the era. Which is a shame, these are some of her best songs
My hopes are very low but I’m hoping she covers at least one more magazine. I’d love a live performance like NFR but with Jack being unavailable I don’t see that happening
unless she has Zach do it -

as a mostly honeymoon, uv and lfl stan, will I stan cocc that much??
SpoilerYou listed my top 3 and I love it and you’ll probably stan it, too!

Just now, honeybadger said:I LOVE YOU ALL let's celebrate career highlight
I’ll celebrate with you all! It flew up to the top 3 spot with lighting speed -
SpoilerTo be fair, she’s only written the ‘candle in the wind’ once per era. It just seems like more on this album because she says it in two songs
-
SpoilerThe transition from COTCC to TJF is a moment even though I’m still not a fan of the minutes of just drums.
I still think LMLYLAW works as a bridge between TJF and WAH better than COTCC does.
-
SpoilerI don’t understand the “LFL stand must be so sad:(“ comments like
LFL was her first exploration to folk and she’s progressed so well on that sound, and she literally added a LFL song so I’m confused
I’m a LFL fo lyfe, and this album has quickly entered my top 3

I can already tell this is going to be my new UV and LFL and get played every second of every day endlessly.
TJF was stuck in my head all day and I listened to the full album again and so many melodies are stuck in my head now, she really has a way of making beautiful music
