i can see why people think the california chorus has weak lyrics, theyre maybe not super deep at face value. but they hit really hard for me, and i think i get the place lana is coming from. it sounds like to me shes basically saying "if you take me back, i can look past everything youve done and we can do anything you want" ie throw parties. sounds like shes almost begging for him back and reasoning with him

i cringe whenever people compare halsey to lana. theyre so different, although i can definitely see how halsey was likely trying to emulate lanas vibe in her first album and failed. i think shes one of those edgy "im not like other girls" try-hards, whereas lana is just being lana. not to mention halsey is like entirely pop, and one thing that irritates me about her is that shes so adamant about being called "alternative." like girl have you heard your music? I have to laugh...

i really like how to disappear. i love how the production is really simple and cute. the orchestra/brass is iconic. better than i expected from all the negative things ive seen on here. i think TBNAR is easily my least favorite, the lyrics and chorus just dont really click for me. but theres not a BAD song on this album.

i love that doin time, cinnamon, and whatever else will stand out a bit. im all here for the piano ballads but i dont think these tracks ruin the cohesiveness of the album. now if there was like trap, thatd be another story

i understand either way. personally i want to respect lanas wishes because this is her art, and i want to be a part of the collective experience of lana sharing an album with us that we havent (ideally) heard yet. im probably going to play through the album repeatedly until i hate it once i hear it. might as well help her stream count rather than doing it on my computer. i just think it adds to the hype for me as well, since ill be listening thursday night with my friends, and i have enough self control to wait. so no hate HOWEVER some of you need to learn how to use that mf spoiler tab
