  3. It's honeslty so hard not being able to listen to Love song and California without crying :(

I guess I'm gonna give myself a few days to process them.

I almost cried today listening to Love Song. The last line of the song when she repeats "it all comes down to make the sound of a love song" while she voice seems to break is touching and heartbreaking.

California is a masterpiece, nothing left to say.

  4. i was gonna write a long ass paragraph about why reviewers who dissed her earlier albums are now giving her amazing scores across the board and ignoring some of her dumber lyrics and the terrible production on songs like htd but i don’t have the energy someone else do it for me

The problem is that the question of HTD production is a matter of opinion. For me is amazing, the instrumental solo is glorious. And probably some reviewers will love the production too. Take into account that these persons haven't probably listened to the live version so they don't have any idea how the song was. The same happens with TNBAR.

  5. Basically, a drum track (the high snare hit and the the surfer rhythm beat) is missing on select physical copies of the album. The digital versions will be the single version that we heard on the music video. Now we have this mob mentality and people are being hysterical and saying it ruins the track, when in reality we just have two versions to enjoy.

We all know the real evil is that fucking elevator marimba on HTD.

This. I prefer the single version much more but I'm grateful we can enjoy the two versions. Plus, I'm not listening music from CDs anymore, I just use Spotify so if I want to listen that specific version I can play the CD and that's it.

  6. So I heard the record couple of times.

California is one of her best songs ever. It's really mature and follows some kind of logic in her evolution as an artist.

"How to disappear" sounds terrible to my ears. Is that supposed to be a Christmas song?

"Love Song" starts great and then sounds like a freestyle session in the studio. WTF?

"The Next Best American Record" is probably the worst song in the record.

"Cinnamon" is good, but it sounds like the track that should have been between "Cherry" and "White Mustang" on LFL. I don't see it in NFR. :/

    About the rest:

Venice Bitch, California, Bartender, NFR, Happiness is a butterfly, MAC, The Greatest - I wouldn't mind if the album was just those 7. It still would have been her best record ever.

Overall - NFR sounds like LFL - I mean both records sound like the work of an artist looking for a new direction. Let's hope that her next album will be entirely in the lanes of this new direction.

And where are the RHCP vibes anyway?
