She’s truly reached a new creative peak :trisha: the writing on all 3 of these songs is just amazing and is a testament to her gift as a songwriter. The lyrics you included are just so poetic and pretty and full of symbolism :typewriter: there’s also so much to unpack in BB and TB as well. Every individual lyric has layers to it :defeated:

one of my favorite things is digesting her lyrics:krylie:

just looked into the “i’ve been running on stardust alone for so long” line

stardust: (especially in the context of success in the world of entertainment) a magical or charismatic quality or feeling.

    :xcry::hair::trisha:

  2. i cant believe how underrated wildflower wildfire is like those are her best lyrics since honeymoon. they’re so abstract and beautiful and not too wordy, it’s perfection to me :defeated:

everyone was so disappointed in the production and was expecting so much from mike but he said in the fantano interview that he will always stay true to the artist which he did. the piano was haunting and RICH and the layering reminded me of uv. the percussion on first listen was bizarre but it’s so explosive which i really needed from her.

these first 3 songs are obviously heavy and very emotional. I don’t think lana was looking to make a radio friendly bop out of any of these songs. she’s still working with mike and I think they’re gonna go deeper with that explosive sound. anyways end rant and appreciate these godly lyrics

    Here’s the deal

I promised you like a million tomorrows

    Here’s the deal

What I can promise is i’ll lie down

    Like a bed of wildflowers

And always make the sheets smell like gardenias

    Wild at your feet

    And I

    Nourish you hazily baby, I

I’ve been running on stardust alone for so long... :rollin:

i know we're getting off-topic at this point, but while i agree with the sentiment that we shouldn't expect "the old lana" back after almost a decade since her debut album, i really dislike the narrative that all she sang about was sugar daddies, depression, and cocaine, her music from that era was a lot more melodramatic in a way and it did talk about troubled love, sadness, and drugs, but she wasn't just a depressed sad girl doing drugs with older men and nothing else, i'll never understand why people view her music that way :whatever2:

exactly, those fans are no better than the critics who criticized her that era :bye:

  4. i think it’s so funny how so many of us hated the songs at first including me

the songs are so unique and unlike the rest of her discography, and anytime that happens its gonna turn off fans. there are SO many songs of lana’s that i hated on first listen and are now some of my favorites. these 3 songs are a lot to digest honestly, i’ve been listening non stop all day and am still wrapping my head around the lyrics (which are truly some of her best). i’m so ready for this album, it finally feels like a new era of lana del rey :grinds:

    Spoiler

now stop using year old selfies lana and give the girls some visuals :makeup2:

  5. this song is kinda a maze to interpret

one minute she’s talking about her dad, then i think she’s talking about sean, and then this line,

people say we’re too much alike”

    reminds me of barrie :bebe:

A lot of mixers and engineers worked on this project including Melody Perry she did background vocals for text book according to her ig stories. They all  are very proud of it. I did some looking and found additional details about the birth of this album-Gabe Simon says that “Lana had a dream for a record to follow chemtrails and that week in october we started on that journey. “ So she did start then on those sessions with Zachary i am assuming

And on Dean Reid’s post someone said  I hope u and Rick do more tracks in the future and he replied “stay tuned!”

    hold awn

    RICK?? :tommy::trisha:

  7. i know not everyone was happy with mikes production but out of the 3 singles I think ww was the most recent (and the best :hooker:).

bb was probably written close after the contemplating at costco the santa clairta fires post/ when chuck found out she was pregnant/ when she got tex and mex

text book seems like it was written june of last year during the blm protests and after her break up with sean

ww is kinda a wild card but I think she may have written in january? or when she started working with mike in march.

anyways i’m really happy with mikes contribution and so excited to hear more of them together. there was something so classic about the lyricism and emotional vocals of ww like he brought back that sarcastic fire in her that’s apparent in uv

  8. i think it’s kinda a good thing that the reactions of this release is kinda mixed. i’m really waiting to make my final thoughts about the tracks because sometimes they don’t immediately resonate with me.

right now, i really cant connect to blue bannisters because it seems kinda too personal to her with the constant name dropping- i do really love the end of the song though

textbook, i really love the verses but the chorus hasnt really hit me yet.

at first, the mixing at the end of ww bothered me in earphones, but now i cannot stop listening. it’s such an exciting song lyrically and vocally. i really believe it’s her most exciting song since lfl. electric guitar and better mixing towards the end would have made it godly
