Priscilla (Directed by Sofia Coppola)
violettiaras replied to Jaeden xx's topic in Movies & Television
TW/ rape , sexual assault not all family , just his daughter who frankly did not know him and (maybe his grandkids who also don’t) priscilla is all for it and she knew him and herself best. if that’s why lana didn’t do it i’d be disappointed because anyone can see clear as day he abused priscilla. additionally, i thought the movie was nicer to elvis than it could've been- it excluded a full on rape scene, which admittedly was done for priscilla’s sake after she appeared to regret writing it in her memoir due to backlash. -
Loveee! Blake’s so cool, this was an interesting read. Audio mixing could be wack, Lana could be singing two words the whole song but Blake will be delivering on stage. I feel him and Byron really understand her artistry, evidenced by how long they’ve playing with her, so I’ll always love them. Also excited for his ambient album because the stuff he wrote for Ultraviolence is crazyyyy. I wonder if Lana will pull a Riopy/SYML and sing over one of them.

i don’t know how accurate/ethical those celeb real estate articles are but if you google “lana del rey real estate/homes” according to them she has like 3 houses in la. one of them they claim is small/cabin-y but still obviously something only a rich person could buy. i had always assumed she bought one of the houses for charlie or something because up until recently his ass did not work -

didn’t her band imply she wanted to tour again when outdoor venues reopened? as in spring/summer 2024 so i feel like she’s “milking”ocean blvd and definitely not planning LDR10 for this summer if thats the case. i feel like it’ll be nothing till 2025

i fucking can’t stand the weeknd his personality, his voice, his melodies, his lyrics, his songs, his show, his shitty undeserved superbowl -
I’m midwest USA (never seen the ocean, I’m cold more than I’m hot, theres not a ton of action here) so I get what you mean (not as drastically I’m sure), its almost like viewing these places and other things she sings about as some sort of mythical heaven and I get more of a broad, longing, feeling telling me I’m missing out sometimes. I’m so curious how people from Los Angeles or whatever feel listening! I imagine its so personal and anthem-esque. To listen to NFR album going from Laurel Canyon to Venice Beach, or going down the PCH? To play Bel Air in your hometown Bel Air? To not dream about these places and weather and live it like… I’m melodramatic maybe that must add a different angle!

Her vocals on blinders in the rain are soooo crazy. It’s also maybe one of my favorite melodies, its so dizzying and hypnotic its like the melody and her intonation are pulling me along for the ride. I’m listening feeling like, oh, its Monday… I’m destroyed.. now its Friday!! I’m revived!

It’s Rob’s grandmother’s name There’s an interview where she mentioned the use of the name, saying it is a family name and just kind of popped into her head -

Culpability or not, Taylor probably made enough money the night Ana died to send her home, pay for her funeral, AND pay for a massive team of top notch lawyers better than any family can hope to afford to fight the lawsuit that’ll probably still happen even though she didn’t do anything to incriminate herself.
