Blue Banisters - Pre-Pre-Release Thread
Rocket0212 replied to Elle's topic in Retired Pre-Release Threads
Maybe if you're so out of ideas to include 7 years old filler track on your new album, you should take a break. I'm happy she didn't release that album in July but still worried about it. Arcadia sounds good but more unreleased songs? -
WTF. I never liked Halsey but this album is really good. Very few filler tracks. The way COCC is on the same level for me and only just because of standout tracks, not album as a whole. Folk is good for background music in a car, but that's about it. It's so boring and predictable. Little Lizzynators, including myself, took an L this year. Congrats to Halsey, though. Finally something interesting music-wise, not bland pop music with eDgY alt image.

This is such a random hate. I understand gays hating it, cause there are no bops, but critics? St. Vincent's HORRIBLE boring album got 85 on Metacritic ( when it's 65 at best), COCC sitting pretty with 81 while having second laziest album section (Wanderlust to For Free) in Lana's discography ( just behind In My Feelings to Tomorrow Never Came). Somehow the only album to get backlash for Jack's production is SP. I feel sorry for Ella. I actually think that it works better as an album than COCC, to be honest. Yeah, the highs are not as good, but I just like the whole vibe better. Her fans deserved this, though. The way they are still living in 2013 tumblr world and hating Lana for no reason. Some rat said that Lana is THE worst songwriter ever, while praising Nail Salon. The irony.

OMG. It's actually very good. I can't even imagine how good the original song will be. -

Toyota is so good. Not me falling for another piano flop. I need it now. Album cover is probably her best too. Not a fan of album name, though. All of her previous album names had some mood to them. This one doesn't tell the story on its own without the lyrics of title track. -

The last comments are about NFR, BTD, P, UV, HM and TJF video, so looks like I didn't miss anything . -

Lets hope it's her LMLYLAW, cause...

I'm so ready for this. Her music just keeps getting better. From boring debut with few good songs, to some really great songs on Hunger Games soundtrack albums, to amazing Melodrama. Description of album being very summer-y is perfect to me.

WW and BB are the definition of growers. I liked WW since the beginning but it just keeps getting better, while BB sounds so monumental yet simple, would make a perfect 1st track on album. The third one though...literally 3 demos put in one song. She can make it Japanese exclusive edition track. By the way...my Lana is sun and my Abel is moon on Spotify. -

Yikes. The way I switched like f-word. This is literally second half of COCC 2.0. People saying it's similar to Ultra are delusional. Ultra - strong melodies, COCC - moaning over minimalistic music. And on top of that Blue Banisters and Text Book have the weirdest song structures. Why does she think putting a lot of words and making it sound like poetry over instrumentals makes some high quality song. Song should be a song in the end and melody is just as important as lyrics. I'm sorry for having a meltdown but this is literally the first time I HATE Lana's songs on first listen, so let me scream it out so I can move on. Wildflower is nice though. It's 1/3 for me now. I don't like this album at all so far. -

This is giving me Paradise vibes and I LOOOOOOOOOOVE IT. All the unexpected chord progressions and overall euphoric sound. Little Yosemiters and their dead ass album can go away NOW. -

Sun: Ride Moon: West Coast Rising: Carmen The way I was going to destroy you all with Lana's best songs but that rat Carmen just had to ruin everything. -

I love snippet and video. COCC somehow died for me even faster than LFL, so I needed this. -
Paradise was Lana's only album without fillers till NFR! Some of you saying the most obvious things in the "unpopular Lana opinions" thread. Like whole fanbase wants Jack to go...

Lana Del Rey x Nikki Lane 1 - Pre-Pre-Release Thread

Country music can actually be really interesting and complex. That song...3 minutes of 4 chords on repeat. And it's not even about chords, cause there are a lot of legendary but simple songs. It's about what you do with them. BUS turned out being very flat. But I need to listen to this Nikki girl to understand if she is capable of something better. -

When NFR came out I thought that I became a delusional stan and I'll like anything from her at this point. But this album actually showed me why I like NFR so much, why I think it doesn't have a filler track and why it's my fave album of all times. COCC for me is just cute next to gorgeous. I understand that not every song should be made to be a standout but the fact is that every NFR track had something unique to it. Songs on COCC are still pretty but ngl, forgettable. Like would Lana's discography lose something if she didn't have Wanderlust or Let Me Love You? This post probably looks like a drag but I actually like this album. I think it's a cute 75 or maybe 80, but to me it's always about standout tracks om the album and I just didn't find any in the 2nd half. I understand why a lot of fans like Yosemite, I tried, but it never clicked. So my ranking would be: 1. Chemtrails 2. Tulsa Jesus Freak 3. White Dress 4. Wild At Heart 5. Dark But Just A Game 6. Let Me Love You 7. Wanderlust 8. Dance Till We Die 9. Yosemite 10. Breaking Up Slowly 11. For Free I love top 4 a lot, I like 5-8. 9 to 11 - not feeling them but there's nothing really bad like God Bless America or In My Feelings. That's why this album is above LFL.

Imagine Roses Bloom For You being the last track. Finally ending the album with a standout track.
