I wonder why turnout was so much lower than 4 years ago? It seems like right now we are 17 million votes short of 2020.

If you give all 3rd party votes to her, she would have at least won in Michigan and Wisconsin. Unfortunately the huge overall shift to the right was too much to overcome.

The vote difference between them in Wisconsin and Michigan right now is about what the 3rd party candidates got in those states. Kind of crazy how much that matters in close elections.

Harris is predicted to only win Minnesota by like 3-4 points despite having Walz as the VP. I wonder if she would have done any better with Shapiro as VP.

I don’t think there is anyone that would have defeated Trump. Voters just cared the most about inflation and blamed it on the incumbent party.

Dems are getting destroyed in Florida as expected. Hopefully it’s just republicans moving into Florida from swing states because it looks bad there.

Trump made gains in a few rural countries in KY compared to 2020 with all the votes counted. Kind of worrying but it’s only a few counties so far.

I know that Florida isn’t really a swing state anymore, but Republicans are up like 22% in in person voting today. If there is a similar pattern across other states, it could be a short night for dems.
