Yeah I agree. If that trend continues, then either SZA, Miley, Jon, or Olivia will win. I guess Taylor is still possible since she was asked to perform but couldn’t fit it into her schedule.

Beck did perform in 2015. He did a song with Chris Martin. It looks like the last time an AOTY winner did not perform was in 2005, and it was Ray Charles who died before the awards took place. There does seem to be a pattern between who performs and who wins that award unfortunately.

Kind of surprised that Fred Again has top billing over Lana. He must be a lot more popular than I thought he was.

I wouldn’t worry about that one voter. There are 12k+ voters and only like 5 blind ballots have been posted. All 5 people chose a different AOTY too, so it’s hard to gather useful information from such a small group of voters. On the ballot that was posted today, the person voted for Lana in the pop duo category so she does seem to be getting some support.

Was Prettiest Girl in Country Music ever confirmed to be a collab with Nikki or did they just write it together? I really hate how much Nikki overpowers Lana’s voice in that one live performance they did together.

The official audios are gone now, but I’ve seen a lot of TikToks that are still using her songs today including Margaret, Chemtrails, Brooklyn Baby, and LTLI. I wonder if they will start taking down the unofficial versions at some point.

I think it’s a combination of it being a country album and the fact that she just released an album last year. Like even a portion of her own fan base isn’t looking forward to this.

I know it’s too early to say much about the sound of the album, but that Henry snippet didn’t sound that different from a Chemtrails track.

I think I would be more excited for this if it weren’t produced by Jack Antonoff again. I got a feeling that this will be Chemtrails 2.0. Also Lasso is probably her least interesting album title so far.

It looks like Wet Leg gave an acceptance speech last year but idk at what point it happened. Pretty sure it wasn’t televised. Actually from looking at other years it looks like it happens before the main ceremony. So I guess they may let the winners know ahead of time.

I think I would be more upset if she lost all the alt categories to boygenius than if she lost all the main categories to Taylor at this point.

I actually can’t remember the last time that I saw one of her songs being used with an official audio. It’s usually edited sounds that are uploaded by different users. So yeah if they aren’t taking those down then, she will probably be fine.

I feel like they will reach an agreement at some point. A lot of major artists like Taylor, Billie, Bad Bunny, Ariana, The Weeknd, Drake and more are under them. This is going to hurt smaller artists more than the ones that already have a solid fan base though.

It looks like in the last couple of years the winners of AOTY, SOTY, and ROTY all performed as well. Are they done announcing performers at this point? I know that SZA, Billie, Dua, and Olivia are confirmed to perform so far.

Looking back through Luke’s credits, it looks like he is typically just credited as a songwriter. So I wouldn’t be surprised if he is just helping her with the songwriting aspect of the songs and Jack is still the main producer of LDR10.

They really should have put her in the alternative categories for NFR. It would have been such an easy win for her that year.

I’m hoping that she releases a west coast, mac, or ocean blvd type of lead single and not another LMLYLAW.

Right now Gold Derby has Billie winning SOTY(Lana is at #7), Taylor for AOTY with boygenius close behind at #2(Lana is #6 here), Taylor and Ice spice for pop duo(Lana and Jon are #2), boygenius winning alt album, and Lana winning alt performance. So it looks like it would be a surprise if she won any of the major categories but has a very good chance at winning best alt performance.

Yeah I fully agree. If BB had been released as a mixtape or an EP, I think it would have been received much better. If this new album is just going to be acoustic or songs with even more minimal production, I wouldn’t be against it being an EP as well.
