anna wintour doesn't feel like it's been two years, that shit's still so fresh. i can't believe she dropped one of the greatest bangers of recent years and then completely fucked up her career further than she already had.

pro-tip, never throw away lana things. they're always worth something to someone the last time i saw vogue turkey for sale it was definitely in the £100+ region and i've only ever seen that copy of l'official once and god knows how much i spent on it...

i think for me, anything i love i've always collected things of. i don't think i love a lot of things to this extent, but lana is the thing i've been a fan of for the longest coming up to something stupid now like nine years, so it all just kind of racks up i suppose. but i've done the same for other things i've loved, like video games. lana's the only thing i've never grown out of tho. as far as i'm aware i've never seen a lot of lizzy things. someone a few years ago began selling their old polaroids of her just before BTD, around 2010. other than that i guess you have to find that kind of stuff in "other" ways. elle seems good at tracking down pre-lana things haha. it was basically a series of unfortunate events clapped with the coronavirus situation. it's not like i don't have the funds to be able to stay somewhere, but this is just how things have turned out atm. girl the crackhead locals suddenly buying that shit for $500+, i should have bought more when i could have :/ also i ship us too! :* i wouldn't mind! i don't know if i would be able to scan all of them (some are very awkwardly sized and designed) but i could at least get photos. haha, tbh i have no idea where i would even begin to think of setting it up bc i don't see a huge market for this in scotland lmaoo.

ironically if u google lana del rey collection mine is like the second photo that comes up lmaooooo due to an extremely long story i have been displaced / a bitch is homeless and am currently living in @ wraith's and @ eclipse's flat, where all of my lana stuff is tucked away into a closet. but the moment i can take an updated photo i will defo upload and defo @ you. if i can take a photo of the closet i will bc even that is hilarious. i would definitely take them off ur hands if ur selling!!! no joke, when i was in berlin a little over a year ago i went to the ramones museum which basically just started as one guys collection of ramones stuff. it's very small and the front of the "museum" is just a lil cafe where it has a very large backroom that's just a huge collection of stuff. i was thinking, maybe in the future if i ever have a grounded career in what i'm trying to do with my life i might open up a cafe/museum as a little side thing and keep the stuff there instead. imagine it: café del rey museum and coffee shop

Electra's Lana Del Rey Collection Masterpost April 29th, 2020 Soon to become the biggest heap of shit any LDR fans own. Officially at 232 pieces of individual official merch. From my last quoted post, as you can see at this time three years ago I had 13 pieces of merch! That's a whopping 219 item increase haha. The maths works out that I obtain around 6/7 items a month or about almost two a week since I began seriously collecting. Since I began stanning her it averages out at about two pieces of merch a month, so not that insane. I began creating a lil spreadsheet of all of her merchandise based releases and it's not quite finished, but when it is I'll make it public so other people can see what it takes to be such a massive mess that u collect everything CD's Promo CD’s Vinyl's Box Sets Cassettes Apparel Magazines Books Lighters Postcards Posters Cups Towels Misc. ISO (Things I'm Looking For! Sell these things to me! SELL THEM!!!)

Lana Del Rey albums as seasons and times of day
electra replied to Venice Jesus Whore's topic in Lana Thoughts
ultraviolence is like a summers day at like 4:45, when everything is bright and golden and warm and the vibe feels kind of crisp, like the day is setting and it’s just relaxing i guess. i dunno, it’s hard to describe. -

Norman Fucking Rockwell - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll

and (underappreciated!) Venice Bitch - so much repetition and layering, but by going back and forth from the versus in this beautiful psychedelic way "it's me your little venice bitch, touch me with your finger tips, it's me your little venice bitch"). the lyrics of venice bitch are so wavy and all over the place. psychedelic perfection. a great way of her utilising her habits in repetition to make something new and unexpected. -
Norman Fucking Rockwell - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll
electra replied to Elle's topic in Post-Release Threads
true, but i think when i was younger i tended to find it a little repetitious. i mean, i didn't even notice that til someone else brought it up. but its always nice to hear something more articulate, because she's not bad at creating beautifully written choruses. -
Norman Fucking Rockwell - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll

that's one thing i hate about some of her music - like you could probably guess half of her song choruses without even seeing the lyrics. -
the whole album is excellence, i love for her, relay and basically the first five or six or so tracks on the album slap.
-
well that was excellence.

okay i'm rudely interrupting this thread to say i've decided to listen to this album after seeing the huge stir on twitter and i'm on track #1 and i'm very impressed. also, never listened to fiona apple btw. it slightly reminds me of patti smith, who slightly reminds me of my ex-girlfriend.

if you're ever looking for vinyl releases, always use discogs if you're struggling to find them on eBay or elsewhere. it's currently on there for about £100 https://www.discogs.com/Lana-Del-Rey-Born-To-Die/release/11033372

i saw that and didn't buy it because it was in absolutely terrible condition. it's rare but i've seen copies of this floating about, i would have rather waited for a copy where the spine wasn't in tatters. i don't get how people can't take good care of magazines. just put that shit on a shelf or sumthin, u know
-
considering potentially posting my collectors guide and notes for anyone interested, i've been working on an extremely large and complete megapost of all of her official merchandise, magazines & potentially some record releases as well. i kind of use it as a checklist. i know a lot of people collect like me so i might throw that in this thread at some point when i think it's complete.

can we just donate to revamp the site? i think it's about time.

i hope you get a warning point for bumping this

patiently waiting for @@Elle to update her collecting so i can snoop.

absolute. fucking. luck. trust me. i check every time every time i’m on my phone and cycle through ebay and stuff constantly. it’s a really hard hobby. but i’ve had some absolute snags - a year or two ago i got the Paradise box set for a whopping €13, you just have to be really quick. got wonderland, one of her first magazines for only £20 too one time. i paid £60 for her rarest lyric book; the brown one, and it was signed! when you’ve done this for so long, you know how much is worth it for an item and what isn’t. it’s really just being educated in what’s too much and what’s a steal. i’ve been hardcore collecting for three years. i’m a student with a part time job so i’m not rich. it just builds and builds over years and then eventually looks impressive. and worst comes to worst, like when she releases a shit ton of new things (hello surf shop!) put that shit on credit and worry later LMAOOO.

) no joke though, from the way it's been described i'm literally not even sure if that's just a pressing error (bc it was eventually sold in the UK OU store) or just the slight regional difference. I think from what I've seen online it's mostly people commenting that there is a slight quality difference, but realistically it's probably compatible to the difference between a US copy of a regular black NFR vinyl and a UK copy of a regular vinyl. Unless you're the kind of person that does the very specific regional collecting it's probably not of much use to you.
