I really think this album is gonna have jazz and theatre influences in it's sound judging from the unknown single, Wildflower Wildfire, Text Book, and Thunder.
Like the story telling on the tracks make it seem so good to be used for a musical like "Blue Banisters" really feels like Lana on a stage with the spotlight on her when she's telling her story about the man. Not only does it feel theatrical but it feels like Lana singing in a lounge bar again - think the unknown single and Wildflower Wildfire is really feels like it's meant for those settings. Paired with the music references on the songs so far, this is shaping up to be a lyrically strong record. The reason I feel Cherry Blossom is the closer or among some of the last tracks in the tracklist is because it's diverse in it's sound and it's a very intimate lullaby ballad compared to the others and it'd be perfect for a closing statement for the record. That's saying if those songs are on the album

I'm the hugest NFR! fan and idk I can't think of a song from the tracklist that grew from that record - Chemtrails was an expansion of NFR!'s folk leanings and that record stands on its own - but to answer your question if there were songs that Blue Banisters will grow from they're most definitely White Dress and Dance Till We Die. White Dress' storytelling and production is so amazing but Lana already explored it's themes on Chemtrails - Dance Till We Die is also a storytelling highlight but I think everyone here would agree to see her expand on the sound used on the bridge of that song. So fucking good. Honestly speaking I think the songs on this record grew from hope is a dangerous thing's storytelling you can say they were cut from the cloth.

and QFTCbut you guys are always making me laugh so much.it's so dead in here so I thought I would finally join and say hi.
p.s can this pre-released be more... weird ? like where is she ?
welcome aboard this semi sinking ship!

I just hope the Titanic Rising producer really impacted the album's sound because that album's production is so fucking good
-
at least it's a stripped back production with major jazz elements and let's wait till the album till we can complain or whatever - but I really want her to explore MIKE DEAN's production on LDR9 I know they can cook up some nasty ass shit but for now let's enjoy whatever we're getting

edit: this can also be a song within the record itself—for example, a Part 2 to Blue Banisters (the song).
Thunder is somewhat like a reprise to Wildflower Wildfire

I love how we're all greedy for this album when we recently got one - there's so many cool releases to check out tho as we starve for news

yeah I'm pretty sure it was made after their break up

She seems to be trying to prove herself by making the most authentic music? There’s so many name drops and her music is full of pointless anecdotes or just like “Jenny’s in the pool”. Like, to the point where if she’s scrapping songs because it’s no longer authentic to her current life, it’s getting out of hand.
I can’t say if that’s the reason for the scraps but honestly with the “let me write my own story” or whatever she said, I’m not the biggest fan. Love her and her music is great no matter what but I think she needs to stop worrying what people think about her music bc it’s kind of saturating itI don't think it's about authenticity - it's more about her feelings about this person have changed and this is something that happens all the time like I know for a fact I wouldn't leave in a song meant for someone I just broke up with on my upcoming album
The anecdotes aren't her pushing an authenticity narrative it's more of a storytelling device (and it paints a picture in our head) and even if she is sticking to her telling her story or what not it seems like she's doing a good job so let's wait for the album
-
Once we get the album we'd be able to tell if the album scrapping was because of the break up or not - we know that the three singles we got mention Clay in some capacity (and that this album was about recent events according to her) so yeah and the fact that she added Thunder to this album...
Since she claims she's telling her story on this album it's gonna be interesting how she's gonna flip the whole thing about Clay but whatever we'll see

unpopular opinion: Lana posting snippets is highkey a good thing. it really got me hyped the fuck up for NFR! and the songs were still mysterious regardless I remember when people thought that "Love song" and "Cinnamon Girl" snippets were the same song ahh good times
Spoilerand I never saw a single soul complain about the Tulsa Jesus Freak snippet so?
I also get that everyone here wants more tracks for this album but please don't be disappointed when it's not. It's more about the album being a body of work not a dump of like 22 songs that aren't cohesive at the slightest. I know this album will be great I feel it in my bussy

I'm just thankful we're getting an official release for those songs - and if ur bothered it's just karma doing it's thing since the songs were leaked

Whether you like her music or not you can’t deny that she does really care about her art and uses it’s full potential (and does it beautifully tbh) something that lanz has been lacking lately
its not that I hate her because of a trend but comparing her to Lana rubbed me the wrong way

I hope the same does not happen with BB aka LDR8... I really want Lana to put laziness aside and put more effort on giving us an era with visuals and a concept that is striking (BTD for example) but hey... I love Lana and I love her music but honestly and being objective stanning her sometimes it is boring compared to other artists.
1. don't compare her to that rat
2. I get the frustration of no big eras but Lana isn't a big pop artist and honestly one of the best parts of stanning Lana is the fact she calls all the shots - no matter how questionable they are - u just get the satisfaction of knowing she's in control of her chaos. Chemtrails era was fucked up by Covid which by extension granted us an entirely new album so let's revel in that and hope she delivers and as we've seen so far (aside from the picsart) she IS delivering. She's an alternative singer with pop sensibilities NOT a pop artist
3. don't compare her to that rat EVER
