  1. as a Gemini myself of course this is a Gemini album

b2b has crack in it - kinda what I expected Kim Petras to do after Turn Off The Light

  2. So… I have this new job in Portugal’s only totally public media channel and I specially work in one of the channel’s sub-channel that exclusively transmits content and projects directly tied with scenic arts: concerts, operas, etc etc.

This summer our channel finally got the rights to have backstage access and be able to produce interviews and original formats and concepts in Primavera Sound… where Lana is performing 😭 not only do I have full backstage access but I also will be able to talk with her/perhaps do a little interview of sorts!!! I still can’t process this and I need y’all help to prepare good questions so I don’t repeat whatever that girl from the Blue Banisters IG live did when she had permission from Lana to ask anything and she asked if she said “whore” in Pretty When You Cry :bebe:

I have never understood why people don't like the blonde hair

I mean she looks good with dark hair too but yeah

Blonde Lana = Lizzy Grant, that post-AOTY loss in 2020, pandemic, recording insta stories while driving recklessly, Chemtrails creation, QFTC… whenever she gets blonde, herstory is made :true:

4 tracks in and i like it so far, lana sweetie im worried for you

Country is a very encompassing genre. There are subgenres within it. I don’t think Lana’s approach will be anything like Beyoncé’s: the former will most likely follow the Tammy Wynette/Loretta Lynn/Patsy Cline/Crystal Gayle country route while Beyoncé opted for something different.

  5. There’s a review somewhere that reflects my feelings better than I can: “ There’s no question that Cowboy Carter is a landmark record. Arguably, an inevitable one. But once the dust of its audacity settles, it misses the mark of a classic”.

I think it lacks some trimming and I’m still iffy on some of its politics and angles, namely the Jolene lyric changes to a version that’s thematically so pick-me and women blaming, but overall it’s a fun experience. It’s just not interesting enough to bear repeated listens, to me at least. It’s not a coincidence that my favorite tracks are the ones that experiment with genre bending and clashing (Sweet Honey Buckin’, Spaghetti, Tyrant) while everytime Beyoncé dabbles with traditional country, it feels often phony.

Already looking forward for Act III and all of its rock n’roll extravaganza, which I feel is better suited for a billionaire musician as opposed to a genre so rooted in rural and working class (and yes, black!) culture - something that Beyoncé can’t quite emulate without bordering on temporary cosplay.

Because she is friends with Taylor and they have made appearances that each others events celebrating their accomplishments

And it has been heavily rumored since the beginning so it isn’t like I’m just pulling the idea out of my ass lmao

they are not friends, they appear together at public events because it’s mutually beneficial to both. they’re colleagues and friendly towards each other.

in an album that’s very much about reclaiming a genre from white culture and shining a light on obscure/more unknown artists from the country scene, having a taylor swift feature would be tone deaf and a waste of space lol.

It would be so much better if it was called Cowgirl Carter or even just Cowgirl. I also loved the rumored title Rodeo too.

Also I lowkey need a Taylor collab on this album, I know she is capable of serving a little cunt on a country record.

why would she affiliate herself with Taylor Swift when this is an album about a black artist reclaiming a genre from white opportunists.

''fans who attended the exclusive listening experience reported that a slower version of the 365 song featured in the Boiler Room announcement snippet was played, but with no drop''

possibly to avoid giving away too much too far away from the release of the album Charli decided to use a remix instead of the album version of the 365 song in the Boiler Room announcement

so the snippet from the second Boiler Room tease is a remix as well

consequently since the passage which was in the second Boiler Room is part of the ????? track it means that the ????? track is the instrumental of dub remix of the Club Classics song with which she opened the main Boiler Room set

tbh it sounds logical. it is safe to assume that the second single will have a late April release so I don't think she would put out the instrumental of the album version of the single nearly one and a half month before its release. putting out the instrumental of the remix is a fun way to spread excitement and hype without spoiling almost anything at all.

what if the song about Italy which people who attended the listening party reported is actually a diss track to that Rose Mulet bitch who after writing the most pick me tweet I've ever seen was playing it cool by saying that she would now enjoy her vocation in Italy? this would be fire! hopefully Charli will have a savage diss track about her on the album

(all these were just my shower thoughts. I apologize for the text having zero coherence at all)

it’s such a cool spin on the whole rollout concept. love this.

  9. The cover doesn’t even need defending. Every designer I know of loves the cover regardless of being fans of Charli or not.

Dua’s cover is far more atrocious.

Can she hurry up and share the album artwork or something, I wanna get excited for new vinyl variants :flutter:

It’s too early, we’re gonna be sent into a downward spiral with an artwork being released 6 months before the actual release. I know I am.

  11. I really didn’t connect with this album on my first listen but something drew me in to keep listening to it… I love it now.

There’s a feeling of muted sadness permeating through the record that’s really appealing coming from a pop star of her status - generally (pop) artists go big or go broke with their breakup/divorce albums but this one is quiet, adult heartbreak. The one that doesn’t destroy you completely but lingers indefinitely. The title itself tricks you into thinking the album conveys a different message but once you realize it was inspired on the Eternal Sunshine film, the whole thing clicks.

And sonically? She does Aaliyah, TLC, Mariah Carey, Robyn, Missy Elliott… all in a very cohesive package that sounds undoubtedly hers. Very very good record and a mature overview of one’s life crumbling. The Supernatural - The Boy Is Mine run is actually insane.
