  4. My god.

There is a culture of FOMO in the Taylor fandom that she actively and purposefully encourages in her messaging and it's always, always, always packaged in a way that makes the die hard fans think it's not a trick. And for the most part, it's actually tricks that give them something -- like having a secret song unique to each show of a tour. This is great and special for fans at each show, but it also encourages fans to seek out content online for EVERY show to see EVERY new moment - boosting her social media metrics. It also encourages fans-of-means to go to multiple shows and to spend thousands of dollars doing so. Part of what she achieves by all the secret messaging hinting at what's next doubles down on the FOMO culture - you have to stay ever-present in the Taylorsphere to catch them all, and you have to post about it online and discuss it with each other. Yes, it's lovely that it creates a community, but it creates superfandom and tricks people into feeling like they need to purchase every vinyl and every deluxe edition in order to qualify as a superfan.

No one else does this. I completely understand how it's fun and exciting for the fans. But call a spade a spade, a capitalist a capitalist, and a woman seeking domination a woman seeking domination. This is absurd.

  5. yeah i’m really not feeling either of these songs but 16 Carriages is at least kinda good.

this is making me more excited for Lasso and Lana’s version of country actually.

I think she just does whatever she feels like and it's not more complicated than that. She probably doesn't need the money--depending on how she's spent or saved her millions--and she's not interested in chart-topping or competing with Taylor. She's already an artist's artist and on her way to becoming a music industry legend based on the effectiveness of her songwriting and the number of great songs she's composed.

I find it funny that anyone would find her post-NFR! career boring, as, for me, it's NFR! that's boring, except for a few tracks, though I do think OB is a complete mixed bag, a real smorgasbord, and definitely not her best.

her doing whatever she likes is one of the main reasons i still stan this woman today because in a way it’s almost like she’s anti-Hollywood in the sense that she doesn’t conform to what’s expected of her - which is why i sometimes find these “i hope she does trap! i hope she does a big pop radio hit” posts a bit redundant because no matter how many records she makes with The Weeknd, Mike Dean, Migos, etc etc she still does what she wants at the end of the day and she shouldn’t apologize or change her tune because it’s not the pussy popping musicianship that some fans expect or demand from her *shrugs*

but if she does come out with a capital B banger good for her! i’ll be here applauding and supporting her regardless

Maybe yes maybe not. But I thought this version of Lana doesn’t exist

the one who puts out chart chasing hits? that’s my entire point and you are just acting sassy for the hell of it. not even Fishtails or Peppers are hits: the former is way too subdued, the latter is an anamorphic song that merges a trap beat sample with surf rock. it’s not a coincidence that the tracks who are frequently used and consequently got viral on social media out of Tunnel were Let The Light In and Margaret and she didn’t capitalize on either of them with additional promo or music videos or interviews whatsoever.

so no, this version of Lana that wants to do a chart topping mega hit with fire beats and bombastic choruses does not exist at the moment, no matter how many tracks she records on the sidelines and never gets to release - this is not me thinking i know her personally, this is me looking at the state of her career and her latest output since 2019. i’m open to be surprised and see her pivot to wherever direction she wants to as i’m sure she’ll excel at anything she tries - for the time being i’m *assuming* she doesn’t seem interested in pursuing whatever some of the stuck-in-the-BTD/LFL-eras fans are claiming she NEEDS to or SHOULD do next because unlike *you* i don’t relegate her post-NFR music as boring just because it doesn’t have beats you can shake yourself to like i’ve seen you state countless times so maybe remember that before unnecessarily shade me when i didn’t even address you.

If Lana brings out something akin to old town road I’m unstanning lol, seriously

i think Country Roads and the snippet of Henry Come On are pretty good indicators of what’s most likely coming: spacey, somber, atmospheric country. i’m sure she’ll have country infused bops but i hardly think they’ll feature any sort of bombastic radio-ready beats whatsoever but i could be wrong ofc

i’d say they fucked before assuming they recorded or will record anything

You acting like you know her personally:kiss3: I was funny too for wanting trap and when fishtails dropped you all went quiet. meanwhile she’s busy recording hits with Migos and talking with The Weeknd.

i think there’s a difference between recording a song like Fishtails and doing a whole hit single like Old Town Road *shrugs*

is she recording with Migos? where is that info?

She told u that? I thought we r over the conversation, y’all said the same about trap and then u got fishtails and peppers can y’all stop treating her like she’s an 90yo grandma:wtf:

you really think Lana wants to do a Old Town Road chart chaser at this point in her career? :hottie:

    y’all are funny

As I've said a few times before, I'd like sth like Lil Nas X Old Town Road with beats and a guest star (Migos?). At least for a single. Not feeling country from the 1920s when we're in 2024.

Also, please go back to blocking me. It was cooler that way.

you want a version of Lana that doesn’t exist

This will definitely be the soundtrack song. The trailer just dropped, the show is on its way. Definitely a single from that.

Then I guess we can expect Lasso single a month after that.

The only thing is, I don't think Henry will be the first single. It's very slow (unless it blows up into beats or a big orchestra later in the track).

I mean, I adore the snippet, and it sounds like a great song, but after a bunch of low-key first singles (OB, BB, LMLYLAW), we need a banger and Lana back on Billboard.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

what kind of beats do you expect from Lana’s version of country?

I can not stand people who have just discovered ‘blind items’ and use them as a credible source to spread misinformation online. Blind items are literally just lies I don’t know why people think otherwise

I just saw one from the GRAMMYs, and this woman is saying that Lana was off her head on drugs incase she lost the awards. Everyone on TikTok has lost the ability to critically think and it’s so disrespectful. People are so rude and stupid

I saw the same tiktok and I was livid.

I haven’t commented on the Grammys because I have a lot of strong opinions specially regarding Tailor Thrift but I will keep them to myself.
