  1. I was prepared to hate this as I’ve had my reservations with Troye in the overall way he’s been conducting his social media presence this era/rollout but…

I love this album. Going home from a date and spinning this album in the back of an Uber while What’s The Time Where You Are? was blasting in my ears… it felt so inherently specific to my experience as a gay man navigating the loneliness, joy, solitude, ecstasy and longing in the dating world. From that point forward, even Got Me Started started to hit in a way that never had and by the time the album ended I was feeling so riveted and proud of every up and down I’ve lived as a queer person. I still think some of the optics of the album are a little myopic but overall I’m loving it and getting more and more into Troye’s vision.

people and ESPECIALLY gays are so fucking shitty towards Sam Smith when they haven't done anything wrong like I don't even fuck with them or their music like that but the way people are so reactionary towards everything their involved in is so horrid and nasty and obviously stems from internalized homophobia and fatphobia :oprah3: thats right I pulled out the liberal buzzwords but its trew :true:

neways the song sounds cute idk, its weird with Charli I feel like a lot of the time Ill hear snippets of hers and I'm like "okay?..." and then it comes out and is like the greatest thing ever but im just grateful for new music

it OBVIOUSLY stems from that, thank you so much queen 😭

    well… it’s over

    for Mitski? i agree

there’s no way in hell Mitski is winning over Lana. Lana has mainstream appeal and this year alone we’ve had people like Rosalía, Kim Petras, SZA, Caroline Polachek, Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo singing her praises while all the oldies like Springsteen and Elton John (the latter who even went as far as comparing her to Prince lol) were always supportive of her. if there’s any year where she can get nominated with a legacy/impactfulness narrative it’s this one

All the colored vinyl are back on the store

The money I could've saved on combined shipping :rollin:

A Terror Swift fan saving money? Unlikely, the way your fave keeps milking y’all DRY :oic2:

  5. Lana and Zach Bryan need to work together, if she’s gunning for a country duet. He even shared Ride on his insta story the other day.

I feel like I have a harder time predicting the overall themes of this record - with her previous four albums it was easier, given everything that happened when those albums were being made. Also, every album kind of showed us what she was heading next, specially the LFL-NFR and BB-Ocean transitions. With this one… I actually have no idea. I can’t see her going to a direction where she’s being anything less than deep and introspective but I also don’t think she’s going to be tackling her family stuff forever? Ocean kind of felt like her definite statement on those themes.

  6. I have a hard time being enamored by the music he’s making or the forced “please I’m a top, not a bottom!!!” aesthetic and overall stances on several interviews and across social media. I know, I know… it’s supposed to be mindless fun and easily digestible pop music but it’s seriously boring, generic and disappointing because it lacks the nuance of his previous work. It’s just very very vapid work that doesn’t even succeed at the very low goalposts of consumable sexiness - he doesn’t look sexy and lacks the star power to pull it off.

And again, every time he goes out of his way to tell everyone he isn’t a bottom was understandable at first (twinks shouldn’t be automatically categorized as bottoms) but now feels a bit backhanded - are you ashamed of being called a bottom, actually? Do you feel the need to reinforce you’re a top because you want to defy stereotypes or because you think being perceived as a bottom is not something you want for your appeal as a pop star? I have conflicting feelings about this but I’m mainly just bored out of my mind with him this era because I can see the wheels spinning behind every thing he’s been doing and that’s a turn off in general.

I mean, we know that LDR10 is probably going to be Americana genre but today I thought of Lana's Britpop era (the stuff she recorded with The Last Shadow band and some of the songs she covered in the past like Wonderwall) and honestly, I'd like to see some more Britpop rock influenced songs by Lana in the future :flutter:

    This cannot be stressed enough.

Americana is a music genre that encompasses traditional music styles including folk, jazz, country, bluegrass, blues, gospel, singer-songwriter, and roots music.

The instrumentation of Americana music continues to be characterized by acoustic guitars, fiddles, banjos, mandolins, and harmonicas, as well as electric guitars and drums.

I’m actually excited. Her foray into gospel with The Grants paid off. She’s incredibly talented, I’m not afraid of any direction she chooses to take.

Her vision of country has always been different than most. She considers Ride, Video Games and a few other of her popular songs as country-leaning or with country sensibilities.

I’m not a huge country fan myself but even her most country songs (namely the ones in Chemtrails) are amazing and done in a very uniquely Lana fashion. I’m not scared of her going Americana/Country at all. It’ll be special.

  10. I absolutely loathe that she’s still singing Summertime Sadness. Enough is e-fucking-nough. At least Y&B still makes thematic sense.

Also, I’ll never forgive her for not integrating Thunder and Let The Light In in the setlists. Those two back to back make more sense as a live performance than… Arcadia.

And nothing from Honeymoon is ridiculous.

Other than that, I love her on stage.
