not taylor trying to wreck billie's first week by offering three eXlUsIvE demos

I hope there's a double album, and that Lana is on it

She’s money and power hungry and has a history of doing this to other people too, namely SZA. But the less I say about that woman, the better.

Anyways, this album grows and expands with repeated listens. BLUE is perfection.

Also, I know I'll be the only one but I'm growing a little tired of her hostility towards random accounts asserting that she grew up rich or privileged. The original post she commented on was indeed stupid, but if she feels that strongly about it maybe she should be candid about her childhood, because even the few times she's actually "addressed" it, she's still been very vague.

I think she's not being honest with herself. There's nothing wrong growing up privileged (rich or not). She clearly had opportunities. Not just any of us were running around bumping shoulders with Lindsay Lohan as a pre-teen. I don't know why she feels the need for us to know she has suffered. I know her family situation was not ideal and she didn't feel love, but that's a completely different discussion IMO.

Y’all really speak too freely about the life of someone you don’t even know irl.

My comment about songs on shuffle was me saying I don’t want an album to sound like her songs on shuffle.

i don’t ever shuffle an album and I never play her songs on shuffle either, when I want to listen to a variation of her songs I have a playlist which I’ve curated so that the songs still flow well  :toofunny:

I do know people enjoy to shuffle an album tho, I don’t think that argument can be relevant to this, like you said

Oh I see! I personally think the album flows really well together but maybe it’s because I’m used to listen to it haha

Blue Banisters has one of her most cohesive sonical landscapes with only Dealer & the Trio sticking out. People here are so focussed on talking bad about that record ...

I love Blue Banisters. I just don’t think it’s very cohesive at all.

  4. I respectfully think we overstate/exacerbate LFL’s supposed lack of cohesion. It’s a two halves record in which the first relies heavily on trap/hip hop and the second half leans onto folk/americana - the thing is both halves possess sonic elements of one another. There’s a folk sensibility in the first half of the record and some very subtle infusions of trap/hip-hop in the songs of the second half (the beats in Heroin and WTWWAWWJKD are trap). It’s really not that disjointed and the storytelling makes a good progression that ties everything together. A record like Blue Banisters is way more all over the place and abrasive.

Also, how much can we fault artists for our decision to play albums on shuffle? lol

Yes but also during that time we heard about some "bombastic outtakes" from the NFR! sessions that Jack teased. Plus the Cinnamon Girl outro which Jack talked about being a last minute change cos Lana came back from a trip pissed off at a guy or something.

We then have the mystery of the White Hot Forever concept and how that was originally the title of Chemtrails Over The Country Club but also the initial song title for Tulsa Jesus Freak.

Then there was the strange addition of The Trio (Interlude) on Blue Banisters. And who knows what Rock Candy Sweet outtakes could sound like if they exist?

And finally, I think we definitely heard a sonic shift on Ocean Blvd with the latter few songs and the Jimmy segment of A&W.

This could all hint at there being other sounds and vibes being put together behind the scenes over the past 4 years?

Ok you convinced me. Back to the trap americana train!

  6. I don’t mean to rain on y’all’s parade but Lasso has been conceived for the past 5 years, fully during the NFR-COCC-BB days. If I had to bet I’d say the album is exactly what we thought it would be prior to this Quavo thing which honestly strikes me as a very recent change of direction. I don’t think Lasso will be trap infused beyond this song.

  7. Hmm the new single is already out in my country… this is a major bop.

It’s a little bit of Britney’s In The Zone meets Camila’s self titled melodies meets Rosalía’s most off kilter work… working with El Guincho is such an interesting career move for her. Love this.

No one would be talking about Taylor if you guys didn’t insist on dragging her and making up schizophrenic delusions about how Lana actually secretly hates her anytime Lana does ANYTHING lately

let’s not use schizophrenic as an insult, that’s ableist as fuck
