Honestly LYTAN has always been surrounded by some kind of a mystery - it's also interesting that she's been trying to fit that one in two albums in a row and I think it's also the 1st possible title track (since 'Rock Candy Sweet' phrase comes from this one, considering it as a separate project or BB original title) that we've known about, that ended up being completely scrapped and not even released as an album track - watch for instance Arcadia or Tulsa Jesus Freak eventually being released but as singles/regular tracks..

Speaking about Tulsa! -  it's been constantly on my mind since Honeymoun revealed that LYTAN sounds like TJF x IYLDWM in their opinion and I'd be genuinely just intrigued to see someone's perspective on that comparison.

Waiting for someone to say that they should have closed this thread instead of the tunnel under Ocean Blvd…

Also, tbh Blue Banisters had so many moments that were so different for everything she has ever done (ambient production on title track, sing-crying/screaming on Black Bathing Suit and it's chaotic drums, the rawness of Dealer) and Ocean Blvd has this "BB feeling" but it's more polished, more majestic, it's deeper and more grand - so my wild guess is that experimentation that she began with BB, will be continued on Ocean Blvd but in a more complex,  with more pathos and reasonable way.

I find that every Lana's record seems to have a completely different soundscape to me, I could elaborate on this but that's not the point - COCC and BB which seemed to be the most similar albums in her catalogue based on the gp/most of the fans opinion were both not BOZ's favourite ones so beside my personal opinion that he's quite accurate on describing the albums' sound, I guess all of us might expect a switch in terms of sound based on his adoration towards Ocean Blvd. Speaking of variety within the album - cohesiveness (except from BB) is kinda her brand so apart from 2-3 songs having sound similarities between them will be rather obvious and probably nothing surprising (though so many sources mention diversity)

Tbh I believe there wasn't any agressive record, 'revenge' thing she mentioned was just impulsive back at the moment and at the very most it eventually came down to being very open about that situation in BBS. LYTAN was scrapped from Chemtrails, then I believe was initial title track for RCS but the concept of the album changed into BB and she scrapped it completely - the song seem to match BB thematically in a perfect way (breaking-up) and also Honeymouns' description which low-key fit both COCC and BB sound makes me believe the song wasn't reworked at all.

Hopefully one day we'll get to hear that one, I swear there's no other unreleased track that intrigues me as much as this one; even if it finally turns out to be nothing spectacular I have a feeling I'd love it especially lyrically, also title is so gorgeous.
