Well she's been teasing DF as the lead single for years and years now so it must make sense in the grand scheme of things.

As much as I would have liked to believe it, I kinda always had my doubts there was going to be an album anytime soon. Yes, everyone has been saying that things are happening this year, but we have no confirmation that the album is even done so I'm fully expecting DF to be a one-off with maybe Descending coming in the fall and then nothing until next winter. I just have this feeling that Sky will end up like Lauryn Hill where there will always just be the one great album and nothing other than some singles.

This. These leakers think they're doing fans a favour, but they're more so just damaging everything. I know that Sky scrapped a lot of stuff because it leaked, but that was all material that had no concrete release plans. DF has a video all shot and has been announced (albeit without a date). They're not gonna scrap it after investing money - Sky might want to, but the label won't let her.

Yeah it's out there. I haven't listened yet, but the full version is out there. They did. The leakers definitely held back from leaking the whole thing out of sympathy for Sky since they already shared snippets a month ago, but I guess even they got annoyed by the song not being out yet. At least this should be coming out soon now. The video is done so the release should be imminent.

Which one did you hear? The "I'm the real bad girl" one? Or the instrumental one? Both sound stunning. I feel like this will be another 5 minute song.

The fact that May 13th would have been the perfect release date and they’re letting it pass by is the most infuriating part of this whole rollout. I guess knowing that the song is coming at some point is the most frustrating part. She literally has festival performances coming up in June - what are they waiting for? At this rate, she’ll have no time to promote it.

Yeah I don't think this is getting announced anytime soon haha. Fingers crossed we get it in June tho. Just listened to a bunch of the demos that surfaced and OBSESSED with All To Myself. A shame that there's only one verse in the demo. I think it's been confirmed by insiders that everything that leaked has been scrapped, but would love to hear a final version of that song one day.

May 20th sounds about right. Hope she announces it next Friday.

Guess they're actually making use of the Elon situation. Love it. This should be out the 13th of May then as many already predicted.

Sucks that it had to happen to her when we were so close to getting the song. But good to see that her name can still reach this level of engagement.

Not her life being one big comedy movie lmao. Istg those things only happen to her. From her asking Soundcloud to give her back her password, a thousand sound malfunctions at Pitchfork 2019 and now this, she just attracts chaos ddd. It's a shame tho because this will undoubtedly cause her anxieties to flare up and she'll halt every plan they had. I'm 100% certain now we won't be seeing DF until June or July. It's a mess.

She has done more than her album tho. She's been active in modelling - recently in a Marc Jacobs campaign - has had film roles and is gearing up for a comeback that was trending on Twitter. I'm not surprised she was there. The Met isn't just for massive top stars. Other, lesser known celebrities go as well. Sky is still a name in the fashion industry (even has a Marc Jacobs eyeliner named after her) so I think she has some justification for being there. Compared to TikTokers she at least is an artist.

This. Hit the nail on the head. Maybe there isn’t an album coming right away, but there is clearly a lot more effort being put in than ever before. The fact that her label has acknowledged her publicly and that she is able to go to events like this really goes to show that there’s still interest in her and I think that her long hiatus has definitely helped with that. Also: By now, Capitol will have heard a lot of the new material so them putting effort into her career shows that the new music is good. They wouldn't invest in her - especially after almost a decade of new material - if the new record wasn't something show stopping.

Yeah I think I'm drawing the line as well. I want her to succeed, but something always seems to go wrong for her. Should she release something this summer I will listen, but I don't want to set myself up for disappointment everyday by coming online and still seeing no news.
