    Problematique all sold out around me.

     

    I hope all the f-words who got copies instead of me have their Starbucks orders be wrong for the next 5 years, their poppers are always stale, and their Grindr hookups always end up being 10 years older than they said they are.

    Now I'm going to have to buy a copy at some stupid markup price whenever scalpers put em on Discogs. Ugh.

    Jesus the last few pages have overwhelmed me (trying to pack for a week trip across the country to Denver zz so I ain't got focus time to sit and really dig through/listen)


    My thots are....

    • Deep Blue snippet sounds like some Lindsay Lohan/Hillary Duff 2009 shit.
    • I was dissociating (focusing on something else) while listening to Freeze but it gave me warm fuzzies subconsciously so I like it and wish it was longer
    • Love Dealer is cute
    • Something about that 'Sink' snip gives me TR vibes
    • what the fuck is this "The Bird and the Bee"-esque, Ingrid Michaelson barf, A Fine Frenzy-ass, shit that is "You Pop Up In My Head". Let it be a snippet and never materialize in full, else I'll have to print it out and burn it. Dislike.
    • Dum Dum Dum has some potential in my listening rotation
    • Love "Be There" - I honestly want a little more sucker-esque sound from her, this satisfies. I don't think she could (or rather should) return to that sound; music has moved on and Olivia Rodrigo occupies that rocker/punky-pop space now anyway (Maggie Lindemann superior for me imho)
    • Girl$ is ABSOLUTELY giving Ed Banger. This is 100% fucking Charli's take on Uffie. Go listen to Pop the Glock or Add SUV and tell me it's not cut from the same family tree.
    • Honestly is aight, but something is missing (didn't I already post about her a few pages back?)

    I *feel* like it's odd/rare, but sometimes exports come out @ that high a sample rate. Specifically citing Azealia Banks when she dropped OG New Bottega  on WeTransfer -  it was a 96khz/24bit wav. Folks in mixing and mastering often want stems and very high exports to work with, or sometimes people just be feeling extra for the giggles.

    You also sometimes want to render at very high sample and bit rates because it gives you flexibility when changing speed and tempo of audio. There's a whole like, "half speed" thing in sound design that comes into play (my amateur/hobby knowledge doesn't exist in this realm tho, and IIRC it's really a thing more in analog spaces???), and if you plan on changing the tempo of a song but not the pitch, having a file with a higher sample and bit depth can help hedge against artifacting a bit as well when you're fucking with it.

    Someone also could have exported and just forgot to turn the settings down.  :shrug:
