Okay but they're both pubic figures, and Charli's putting out a song citing a lot of things that ~seem~ like it might be Lorde + she's been mistaken for Lorde, there's been jokes about it etc. Hate to be a bitch but like....it's pop culture discourse; and even if the song is NOT about Lorde, it seems to be about someone and the sheer virtue of it being put out in an official capacity more or less means that it's inherently up for speculation and discussion, regardless if it's a "malicious diss' or just a track to gas off personal anxiety, sooooo.....

Talking about this in a general sense as to not get the banhammer - I don't think that it's a lack of care. It's more that links at one place have expired and have not been replaced/updated, and an alternative site that people sometimes use is down/non-functional entirely and has been for a bit. Since it's now a confirmed track to be released, I wonder if people aren't jumping at the bit to share it out either. I've noticed moments in leak culture where people who have files, upon learning that something is def going to get an official release, will withhold spreading it out any more than they already have because they don't want to do any (more) damage.

I hear you, I see you, I see this, but I also need to raise the point that you touched on at the end - label. At the end of the day, when signed to major labels, you play their games, or you don't get to release. She can have all the creative vision she wants, but if the CEO wakes up and says "mmm...we're not shipping that", it's dead. So whatever the vision is, it needs to still be considered "minimum viable product" by the bean counters and toe that line.
