  1. I really think sonically this record is about to be a lot like Text Book. not aggressively country, but definitely leans in that direction. a bit experimental while still having moments that sound like classic Americana, dark tone, odd percussion, pretty subtle but more going on than just piano or guitar. it has the same unhinged energy that she’s been giving off lately lmao. and the vocal style seems to be how she likes to sing now
  2. honestly I think she’s so hesitant because she knows she has some of her best work and wants to do it justice. this feels like the complete opposite of the stream of consciousness voice memo vibe of Ocean Blvd and Blue Banisters. wouldn’t be surprised if she’s been sitting on some songs for a couple years. im glad she’s not rushing it this time around.
  3. honestly she doesn’t even need to switch up the setlist much to pull together a solid country influenced set. get a pedal steel player on stage, ditch the dancers, switch up a couple songs, and we’re there 1. Cruel World 2. Text Book 3. God Knows I Tried 4. Pretty When You Cry - 5. Breaking Up Slowly 6. Prettiest Girl In Country Music 7. NFR 8. Arcadia 9. Mariners Apartment Complex 10. Chemtrails Over The Country Club 11. The Grants 12. Ocean Blvd. - 13. Country Roads 14. Ride 15. Video Games
  4. y’all she’s playing stagecoach next year we really are going yee haw
  5. well anyways… I still think the trend of the last track from the previous album pointing towards the direction of the next will continue. taco truck has a darker, sexier tone. lighter, somewhat nonsensical lyrics but very much painting a snapshot of an American scene, all with a beautiful melody. sounds like how she’s described lasso to me
  6. I know y’all hate bartender but the bass and subtle drums they added plus Byron really spicing up the piano line… it’s kinda a slay. feels like a little jazzy moment in the show
  7. the songs where there is no backing track to rely on are 100x better. Arcadia, Ride, The Grants etc… can’t sing half assed when there’s nothing else to rely on
  8. so she cuts doin time yet still plays the monologue… interesting
  9. if she says bgvs up one more fucking time— like girl just sing. she sounds so good when she tries
  10. being late when you’re not even the headliner is sadly just embarrassing… would love to just get a glimpse into what she’s doing. definitely some lines in Alabama lmao but every other show she’s seemed 100% sober so like what’s even going on
  11. fyi that’s not me, kinda soul on Reddit who says their gonna stream her set. let’s be kind in her chat
  12. someone convince me that this wouldn’t flow 10x better than what she’s doing. no songs added, just reordered and nfr taken out because I sadly don’t think it fits the vibe 1. Without You 2. Young & Beautiful 3. Jimmy 4. West Coast 5. Cherry 6. Pretty When You Cry - Bar Interlude - 7. Bartender 8. Chemtrails Over The Country Club 9. The Grants 10. Arcadia - Ride Monologue - 11. Ride 12. Born To Die 13. Doin Time 14. Summertime Sadness - Closing Speech - 15. Video Games 16. Ocean Blvd.
  13. hope is too good to not be actually sung live. I get the statement, but the impact just isn’t the same
  14. yeah the crowd would be singing Chemtrails with her they can’t hear it
  15. y’all I think she’s testing the mic can the crowd even hear this?
  16. the Chemtrails vocals are gonna be fire tonight huh
  17. the whisper and both of them smiling so hard… something new is coming it’s like she just gave the go ahead
  18. even this interlude goes hard when the energy is right
  19. those bridge vocals and the band goes right into BTD as her reverb is still ringing with no awkward pause. setlist sure seems a lot better when the execution is actually good
  20. not them fucking up the sound of the best livestream we’ve had in years
  21. my prediction (delusion) is that Mariners will take the place of NFR and Arcadia
  22. sounds like the backup singers were singing on west coast & doin time and the tracks were actually mixed how they are in the songs. vocals were more confident + absolutely no mic issues. we’re improving for sure. and honestly I kinda like this setlist. I think for the more casual fans, which is a large part of these festival crowds, it does what it needs to do. and she’s clearly singing what she considers to be her best work. I do wish there was more variety, but can’t be mad at this genuine question tho, does anybody here like Young & Beautiful as a closer with that jazz outro? it was fun for Coachella, but I just don’t think it’s even close to as impactful as closing with Ocean Blvd.
  23. she said it during the instagram live after Blue Banisters came out
