  1. Like our bodies betray us. We have goals, but maybe too tired to accomplish them. What Lana is inside is beautiful and handcrafted like Jergins Tunnel, with its mosaic walls and painted ceiling. But it is blocked on either side so noone can enter . . . the limitations of the physical self to the beauty inside . . .
  2. Sorry. In conclusion, "it's our bane" and "it's of age" are a sample of assonance, a technique Lana uses in her lyrics and poetry, which can create internal rhyme . . . There are discrepancies between the physical book Violet Bent Over Backwards in the Grass, and the poetry in the audio book . . . I think this is one of those discrepancies, perhaps purposeful. The song lyric is "it's of age." The dust jacket says, "it's our bane." Lana might do something like that - purposefully different. Ageism is a bane! The genius lyrics are the correct song lyrics, and Lana posted a variation on the dust jacket to add complexity. That said, I may be wrong. I appreciate the opinions expressed here. Album lyrics are formally supplied to genius if not by the artist, by the record company, is my impression.
  3. Its Youtube looks fleshed out, and there is a "livestream" tab which makes me hopeful there might be a live performance re the 2018 NFR live debut from Jack's studio.
  4. Since this thread discussion about videos is speaking about Nikki Lane jumping in the water with Jenny, the song BB is not off-topic . . . Is the lyric printed on the dust jacket? I just played the mp3 of Blue Banisters purchased from Amazon a while back, and the lyric sounds very much like "It's of age." Your observation makes it occur to me Lana is transposing "it's a bane" for "it's of age," as she often does within the song, like "The kids were young and pretty" and at the end, "And we were young and pretty" on Old Money. Except she did it on an album sleeve instead of in the song itself. It would make sense. One "bane" of Hollyweird is men being paired in films with young actesses half or a third their age . . . and men in general wanting to date young women. It is an ongoing conversation in Hollywood there are many beautiful, accomplished women over 50, but not many men available who are suitable matches for them. And the ones up in age - one, an actor, was quoted as saying men like to date young because they can "mold" a younger woman more easily than a mature one. A mature, successful woman is already set in her ways. Society keeps reflecting the movies. The reason so many old, old men are paired with young women in film is because those films are made by men, directed and written by men! And that is a fantasy of an old man, to marry a younger woman who adores him. It is simply not reality. For instance, Audrey Hepburn was 34 paired with 59-year old Cary Grant in Charade. 25-year old Audrey lived happily ever after with 55-year old Humphrey Bogart in Sabrina. One of the most egregrious examples is Catherine Zeta-Jones paried with Sean Connery in Entrapment when she was 30 and he 69 - more than twice her age! Movies are littered with these age gaps which spring from mens' fantasies. In conclusion, maybe I project meanings to Lana lyrics which she didn't intend . . . but I can't help it! Like, these are EXACTLY the blue banisters Lana is referring to in BB . . . they are from the Queen Elizabeth's Greenwich apartment, and the pic Lana posted when she is looking up at them. At the same time, Lana was tweeting or posting to IG about the beautiful union between Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, who died in April 2021 . . . I can't remember is it condolences, or, an anniversary or what the occasion is.
  5. Genius.com lyrics ARE official, I believe. Submit by the artist: https://genius.com/Lana-del-rey-did-you-know-that-theres-a-tunnel-under-ocean-blvd-lyrics Track listing and credits appear full and up-to-date, so must be the lyrics. Genius is owned by Apple.
  6. For me the live performance vids! https://twitter.com/LiveConnoisseur/status/1598117789621170176
  7. It's a teaser, to generate excitement for the interview and magazine launch. Do you not think it is likely Empire of Lounge is a friend's project, and Lana is obliging to bring attention to it?
  8. I gave a shot to get two tickets to Lana's Grammy Museum performance and interview in the theater which seats 200, and it looked like I might almost succeed, but I had to retry, and then they were sold out . . . Members got favored, I believe.
  9. There is lots of material. I am new to Lanaboards, and have to get caught up 30 pages after a day! There is debate over news leaked elsewhere about songs on the album, which source is legit, leaked snippets (which I do not engage in - I, too, am waiting to experience the album as a whole after it is released!) and their meanings, speculation how the songs will be arranged, Brazil appearance which is confirmed by Lana, and tomorrow's interview by Empire of Lounge magazine, which I hope Lana will perform DYK live re 2018 live debut in Jack Antonoff's studio of NFR captured by engineer Laura Sisk. Someone is quoted as saying Brazil and two more festival dates in South America are already confirmed. instagram.com/p/Cnwv20gIypn/
  10. Getting caught up on the posts. It is shaping up to be like what I hope - Lana will perform DYK live!
  11. In two days, Lana will perform a quickie live set for her fans via the Empire of Lounge youtube channel, similar to the NFR promo she filmed in Jack's studio in October 2018.
  12. If Lana can get permission to film the Greatest on top of one of the cranes in Long Beach harbor, she can likely film a video in Jergen's tunnel, the one referenced by the song!
  13. Thanx I see it: https://genius.com/Lana-del-rey-bare-feet-on-linoleum-annotated
  14. Nope! It must be a different poem you are referring to. No "boat" or "Catalina" in Patent Leather Do-Over. But plenty of Sylvia Plath and ocean, that kind of thing.
  15. Let me do the short answer. Will the soundscape relate to Wish Me a Rainbow from the film This Property is Condemned?
  16. Ref my previous post: Outside of Lana, I was thinking about Natalie Wood, her tragic end, her fear of water, yet suffering a drowning death, the drama on the boat leading to an argument between Natalie and husband Robert Wagner . . . It was off Catalina Island, which is accessible from Long Beach . . . Maybe there is a parallel between Natalie Wood and her contribution as actress and the tunnel under Long Beach Blvd?
  17. Thanx for the discussion - it inspires me! Has this been touched on? The last few posts guessing the soundscape and the theme inspired me . . . so came across the album cover for the Natalie Wood Roert Redford film, This Property is Condemned, based on a Tennessee Williams play. The movie garnered Natalie Wood a golden globes nomination for best actress. This is credit to Jsaylol on Reddit Then I had to look up, Natalie's sister is Lana Wood. Lana drew inspo from actress Lana Wood, I believe. So here you go - here is the song from This Property is Condemned that the film is noted for: Wish Me a Rainbow, in tribute form to the movie: Thanx for keeping up the discussion! I drop by every few days. Sorry if it was mentioned, because I can't read all the 1000 posts of this thread, tho I would if I had more time!
  18. All fresh-face beauties on a sunny beach!
  19. Here is an amalgam of review snippets slapped together - my favs! Credits are on youtube.
