Thanx, everyone, for the Likes . . . I will request Tap to forward to Lana! Lanalytics. Maybe it is a reach to ascribe the lyrics, "Your mom called, I told her, you're fucking up big time" to abuse Lana suffered at boarding school. The abuser telling a child he is messing up, to blame. You can't rule it out. Paris Hilton - though I do not consider myself a celeb-monger - gave voice to wealthy elite kids they, too, may suffer institutional abuse . . . Paris speaking out inspires my admiration. The Beautiful People have problems! I appreciate Ms. Hilton spoke up, even though her boarding school past is IN the past. Lana spoke out with A&W, never risking a cartwheel since age 9 and not speaking to her mother. Here is a discussion posted in comments to a youtube A&W reaction video. To train a tomboy to start behaving like an adult and sit like a lady, even if she doesn't understand the significance of throwing one leg over the armrest [me at nine in the livingroom imitating my brother and his friends watching tv] is a delicate thing. Vs. guilting an impressionable child with adult emotions . . . it has no knowledge of, sending the child on a wrong path. For women who may have been raised that way, it becomes a pattern. The grownup turns around and does it to her kids. Ascribing loose morals to a child is damaging, in a nutshell. The child may carry it forward in life. The impressionable child is made to feel "bad" when she has done no wrong. There is a breed of man who recognizes damaged women and knows how to manipulate them. And on and on.

Grammy wants to hug all the babies who were beaten up, robbed, spit upon, exploited, molested, raped, made fun of, etc., as babies, toddlers, school children, and teens. It beggars belief the media is focusing a nude almost covered Lana's next album and flavor of the moment Billie Eilish interraction in Interview Magazine instead of the potent and healing musical gift Lana and Jack just bestowed, A&W. "Your mom called, I told her, you're fucking up big time" - a taunt to Lana's bf in the Jimmy part, and now here is a scary thought . . . "Your mom called, I told her, you're fucking up big time" echoes from a person in authority at a boarding school . . . Paris Hilton came out swinging hard against Provo Canyon School in Utah, from where she claims in a quote from People Magazine: - https://people.com/crime/paris-hilton-testifies-against-utah-boarding-school-alleged-abuse With Lana a pretty and precocious teen, I get it now. It went only one way. Someone likely married turning the shower on so his family doesn't hear him make calls. That came later. Total exploitation. When you get to be Grammy's age, the perspective comes into focus . . . Brilliant track.

ForWhateverReason responded to my youtube comment, then to an email! Here is a link to some of his NFR song reviews: https://www.youtube.com/@ForWhateverReasonFWR/search?query=norman It is hard trying to put quotes into one post! In all seriousness, you may consider going to an audiologist . . . My hearing is sensitive. This track is ground-breaking because the beats part are in good balance. Or perhaps, as some suggested, the phone isn't delivering high quality. There is BTS from Interview Magazine. Sorry of the repost, but I am learning how to respond in one thread, so I don't overpost! Lots of great info here! Thanx for clarification on the first stanza lyric . . .It made me cry! I have to go to work cleaning up a burnt out apartment in the senior residential I live for an acquaintance so she can come home from the hospital.

Where did my post go? I'll try to recreate. Some of you were speaking about rituals for listening to a new release. This must be mine: reading LanaBoards for the first time with DYK album. This thread is rich. There is a BTS for Interview Magazine: At first I read, "heart of her own star power." Then I looked the article. Nice Pitchfork review on short notice! "Heat" makes more sense. Because like many celebs or stars, Lana has that charisma. It is what she chooses to do with it that is so engaging . . .

Lana covers Interview Magazine - March 2023 Issue [Print]
Louise replied to Elle's topic in New Interviews
I appreciate she named them. Lana stated facts. Instead of generalities, and to be afraid to name them, she named them and quoted sasha frere-jones . . . Thanx for posting the quote. Good for Lana! IMO not petty at all. -

Did anyone cry? I have to read the thread. This part - I needed it. I needed to hear Billie Eilish give props to Lana Del Rey, and acknowledge the amount Lana influenced her artistry . . . I don't know how artistic Eilish is, because I do not listen, but I respect people who love Billie. I always go for the live performance, and Billie and her brother Finneas recorded one for Global Citizen during the pandemic, and the piano was right in front of the camera. It drowned Billie's whispery soft vocal at the back of the room, so I thought it is awful. People say Billie would have no career if it weren't for Lana. It is significant to me Ms. Eilish credited Lana properly as she won AOTY over NFR, and didn't mention Lana. This interview and the fangirling of Billie Eilish compensates, and lower my bp. -
The Interview interview with Billie Eilish dropped? This is going to be major. I like checking the news feeds on DuckDuckGo. Outside the insiders here, Lana and her team managed to keep this bombshell under wraps. Now to watch major publications scramble to catch up! Listen, let it sink in, and publish thought pieces. Grab your popcorn! 🍿 https://duckduckgo.com/?q=lana+del+rey&iar=news&ia=news

Finally I listened. Yay. I believed everyone and waited until 8 AM PST and see on the thread you already were listening. It isn't on Amazon, yet. It wasn't on youtube so I watched the Interview vid. Finally, it appeared on youtube, but I had to download the mp3 file because the stream was glitchy. Maybe too many people listening to the audio! With the lyrics on genius pulled up, it was amazing to listen. At first, the poetry and guitar plucking on the first verse hit me hard and brought me near tears.

Found it! Or, found one of them. There were a couple. Not manifesting. I hope it comes AM! Just prepare for the worst. But the worst is not that bad, if it comes the following week. Because crickets from Lana and the management. Ocean Blvd listed 2022-12-02 in iTunes as the release date, yet it came five days later.

I respect your opinion. You must be a young pup! That film has more artistic value than a thousand Taylor / Beyonce / Lady Gaga / Katy Perry. Actually, I never listened to a Katy Perry in my life, but I am guessing. It is slow, but there are hidden treasures in there you have to find, and it is cool after the outro, the playful interview with Nikki Lane answering. Maybe when you get older, you will appreciate.

You're right! Trying to keep up, and got sent to Random Lana Discussion Thread.

Good point . . . Lana's world she barely whispers one time, and it's news around the world!

All the artists I like, it is enough to enjoy their music . . . and what Lana and them put out to the public. I defer to the other fans, who deserve her so richly . . . Just like I would like to have coffee with Ann & Nancy Wilson and Sue Ennis from Heart for two hours and ask all the questions - like that would never happen, and not be interrupted by starstruck fans. Older crowd . . . It could be temptation to get personal questions answered, like, "when is the next single?" and report back here. But, I wouldn't want to do that - you know what I mean?
