dddd sometimes i criticise lyricism but not in that tone lmao wtf is up with them.

i think it's pretty fair to criticise songwriting because it's an element of the song, just as instrumentals, vocal performance, even mixing can be called out. but of course, there are proper ways to signalise that. what does "buzzfeed ass lyrics" even mean :scoff:

and off topic but Unholy sucks in every possible way.

no exactly that's exactly what i'm saying, i feel that they would enjoy something along the lines of Unholy or other songs like it!

  2. i'm ready to knock this [redacted] over the [redacted] head. anyone complaining about her lyrics is very annoying to me.....if y'all don't go listen to Unholy or other brainless [redacted] music and shut the [redacted] up. if she's too serious she's boring....if she's silly she's a "BuzzFeed ass" lyricist.

Reputation is one of the best albums of 2017. That was when she switched me from hater to casual fan. But I was OBSESSED with that album. It’s her best.

LWYMMD is one of her worst songs, a career dud or mistake if you will :toofunny: i'm shocked to hear that reputation is someone's favorite. what's your top three from that album?

isn’t slayyyyyyyyter a confirmed racist or am i making that up?

ot: stop defending Sky with no information. hold her accountable and demand answers. stop pretending Capitol is at fault.

Halsey compromised a lot with her label over the years and got to make that rock album with Trent Reznor. Granted it flopped but it got made with a theater movie and all.

does a critically acclaimed album and her best work (in my opinion) mean that it’s a flop? :flutter: but yes Halsey compromised and played the label games and she won!!! Sky should be taking notes!

I’m gonna do a deep dive into the lyrics of the album, and play it louder so I can fully immerse myself into it… but right now it’s probably one of my least favourite Taylor albums. It’s just a bit weird for her, it’s not what I was expecting and it’s hard for me to get into at the moment. It’s not necessarily bad, but it’s just a new direction for her that’s quite jarring at first.

    My current Taylor ranking:

    1. Red (not Taylor’s Version… but that’s a discussion for another post :creep:)

    2. 1989

    3. folklore

    4. evermore

    5. Fearless

    6. Speak Now

    7. reputation

    8. Lover

    9. Taylor Swift

    10. Midnights

Subject to change of course

My favourite tracks on first three listens are:

    • Lavender Haze

    • You’re On Your Own, Kid

    • Bejeweled

    • The Great War

    • Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve

fearless and eversnore aka deflated folklore or folklore: the b sides or folklore (expanded deluxe edition) are WAYYYY too high on this list.

the girl has been late to every show she had this year with sound issues and car crashes! capitol rightfully doesn't want to fund any of her shenanigans and waste money on her to get NOTHING back.

if she was anything of a creative genius artist she would need ZERO DOLLARS to make and release art. they don't trust you or have faith in you to fund you because you are untrustworthy, dishonest and a liar.

    FUCK OFF SKY.

yes :gclap:all of this but especially the part about not needing money. like what does she do on a daily basis besides posing with her finger up in front of Capitol? like okay......? what are we supposed to do with that sister?

i think the angry fans are the real fans. anyone that's not angry with her behavior is delulu! :true:

Halsey spilled in the end because everything she said is true, unfortunately!

every time i have to read a post or comment acting like any of this is her label's doing i get furious

we need to shut that shit DOWN, it's ridiculously unhinged and makes me feel like i'm among people in an asylum like do we have brains....yes....let's use them. i personally won't be sending any apples to Capitol records!

Sky allowed this though, she follows a page that's wanting to free her!

The funny thing is the same thing happened to Fiona Apple. Her label refused to release Extrodinary Machine until fans started sending apple's to the lable.

I don't know what to think anymore.

Like I said, Sky could have created a stage name so she can release her stuff on Bandcamp. Unless her contract with Capitol prohibits her to create a stage name and release anything under a different name. Could it be that?

what would her label have to do with anything?  i refuse to believe they're holding onto a completely finished music video or music. why does everyone believe that shit so easily? why would that benefit Capitol? it's a bit cringeworthy to just believe something like this without questioning it but it's ultimately Sky's fault because she should be more transparent instead of confusing her fans and allowing them to create false narratives and run around on the internet with them.

naw fuck some of these users. yall know exactly how lana feels yet stay up on here BEGGING for new leaks and wanna act so shocked and appalled when someone breaks into her personal space for the upteenth time. again, part of the problem and dont even care. but carry on

    :gclap:

i listened to leaks when i was younger, like 16-18, but i moved on with my life and accepted that an artist will release something officially if it's meant to be heard. i respect art and the artists that create it!

This album has neither of those things. The lyrics are actually quite heartbreaking, though they lack the purple prose that I think made folklore sound so "grownup". It's wayyyy more experimental than Lover and has less "safe" songs. The lyrics are weird and campy. I really think it's a solid body of work, and has good cohesion and direction. The aesthetics of what she wore to award shows matches the sonics better than the aesthetics of the photoshoot tho, imo.

wow thank you for your detailed description of the sound, i'm looking forward to listening tomorrow! :excited:
