i really don’t understand the appeal of sped up songs, why would you want to hear alvin the chipmunk vocals and for the song to be shorter. at least slowed down versions sometimes sound hotter or dreamier

Tbh the emoji is the worst part for me :wtf3: but yeah, I don't see the appeal. Very few songs work sped up/slowed down imo

"its a beautiful life remember that too for me" is one of those soft reassuring lines like "don't worry baby" in love or "its never too late baby so don't give up" in chemtrails over the country ckub that brings a tear to my eyes as if lana's leaning on my back saying "come on baby you can thrive"

I thought the same thing, like she's reassuring me to keep going

I think her melodic compositions remain just as catchy. I caught myself humming Fingertips in the last few days and that’s a song that has no hooks whatsoever… the thing is that her arrangements are getting more complex and less accessible in a way that track like Radio is. And it’s ok that people don’t jive with it but I think her strength as a melody arranger remains as stronger than ever.

Right, I think that as she inevitably grows older, her music is going to be different. That doesn't mean she can't produce fun upbeat songs - she's still doing them. But she's not going back to making the same music she made when she was 25. I fear that this is going to take on a much bigger proportion as the years go by for Lana, which is unfortunate, but also expected. But she will always deliver something that came from her heart.

i feel like everyone talks about the italian vibes honeymoon has, but it also has such a western/cowboy influence. i could easily see god knows i tried or religion in a old western film

With every release I see more the fact that she changed every title before final tracklist :thumb2:

The Grants makes sense but it was probably Memories or Mine Of You With Me at the start :um2:

I think it was Rocky Mountain High but they didn't want it to have the same name of the actual song :ohsnap2:  but that title is SO Lana

  6. About the intro; I talked about this back on the pre-release thread under spoiler tags

"In music, call-and-response is a compositional technique that works similarly to a conversation. A “phrase” of music serves as the “call,” and is “answered” by a different phrase of music. These phrases can be either vocal, instrumental, or both [...] If you think of gospel music, for example, you will immediately recognize the technique: it’s when the pastor or song leader calls out or siwelp not her explaining why she kept it right as I was typing this LMAO idk I still think it makes sense ngs a line, and the congregation or choir responds."

This is my personal interpretation of why Lana chose to have the choir girls on the intro

welp not her explaining why she kept it right as I was typing this LMAO idk I still think it makes sense though :agree:
