I am glad that the lyrics are potentially "You can drive" not "You can thrive." I originally heard drive and I thought that metaphor was so powerful. I was disappointed when I read the lyric was thrive as it was too literal for my taste. I am deciding that the lyric is drive, unless she releases a lyric book that says differently.

Her live performances are so addictive to me because she doesn't always sing on-key, she sings with emotion and takes risks (or at least she used to be very risky). If she tours again, I hope we see her risky and emotional performances, not the dancing background vocals type of singing.

We should make a chart watchers thread for you people obsessing over charts. Its nauseating. Part of what makes Lana excellent is that she doesn’t focus on charts she just produces her art. It tends to be elevated as time goes on, rather than being an instant hit. Who cares if Ocean Blvd is a chart toping record? I honestly don’t trust the public’s taste right now looking at how the charts have been.

If a Bruno Mars knockoff like Flowers can be chart topping then we shouldn’t look towards Lana’s chart status as a measure of the album’s excellence.

Do you care more about these stupid charts than her artistic freedom? That is strange to me. I don’t understand the obsession with charts. I hope this record is true to Lana’s artistry, not an attempt to make the charts and get money like other musicians try to do. Lana’s indifference to that stuff makes her special and it’s what makes her music timeless. She will be held in much higher regard in a decade or longer than the artists today who just try to stick with the trends to top the charts. So can we stop obsessing over the charts?
