Yeah there’s a right and wrong way. I don’t know anything about that release. But Niall Horan announced Heaven like a month+ out and had teased a few clips already. He kept it fairly fresh, dropping bits of him singing it acoustically, bits of the intro, him singing it in the car with the windows up. It was fun. (I am a big fan girl of his ) Meanwhile Unholy went crazy viral on TikTok and then they pushed the release two or three times. The song was short and sucked in the end. Not much on Portals could have been over exposed though with such a short release window. However they spoiled the single date on the day the album was announced, so we been knowing when it’s coming the whole time

Agree with this. In the same way “she wasn’t there yet” with Yosemite going on Lust For Life, she had to go through the process of writing COCC and BB to land her in the right place to get to where she is now for this album.

I feel like it’s rare anymore to even get single announcements. Either we get no announcement (Lana) or it gets teased endlessly for two months and you’ve heard the entire song by the time it’s released(Niall Horan’s “Heaven” did this fairly well, but others fuck it up monumentally like “Unholy”).

The very end of the incubating clip was what was being called Faerie Soirée. First part was recognized as Track 3 I think. The end part of the hatching clip was also recognized as Track 3 I believe. There were time stamps for all of these somewhere way back in this thread if I remember correctly.

I would also doubt it is 2LP selling for $25. Her Cry Baby reissue at Walmart was $33 for 2LP. Melanie’s albums are also usually very well mastered for vinyl, so I would be surprised if she heavily compressed songs to fit on one disc. We shall see soon enough!

Songs out of order and not enough tracks. Mess. This furthers something I’ve been noticing, why are all the photos such a weird low quality? That moth stone is fuzzy and out of focus looking, as are all the photos of her with four eyes, most of her videos are too, except the Spider Web and Larynx clips. TV should be Track 3. FS track 4.

Did K-12 l*ak in full, and if so how far in advance of release? Asking for science.

I already know im going to have a hard time fully digesting this album so soon after Lana’s. Took me a solid month to move on from Midnights and now I never listen to it anymore. I have a feeling I won’t really be diving into this one until late April

Agreed, hopefully it is not as loaded with surface noise as her last two albums Hopefully at least one of my four variants I bought will be static free (won’t be the picture disc). I have quite a warm setup (Grado cart). I am really looking forward to many nights spinning this album

You bring up some interesting points. I went to Catholic school for 14 years, came out as gay in a Catholic high school. Despite all this, I had a pretty supportive family (it took time, but we got there) and I was never raised in a super religious environment. I was lucky enough to not have too many bad memories around my Catholic school environment. That being said, I still love going back and listening to some of the old songs I heard as a kid in church on YouTube and stuff like that. I’m agnostic/spiritual in my adulthood, but I always loved the sound of those church hymns.
