I really do not want Jack as the main producer for LDR 10.

I LOVE NFR and I think his impact on this great album can't be denied. However, I feel like the reason for this is that that album thrives on the newly discovered chemistry between Jack and Lana, they inspired each other a lot and therefore created something exciting and new (similar to what habend with Dan Auerbach for UV).

This spark is however missing from a lot of the stuff they did afterwards. You can still hear it on standout tracks like White Dress or A&W - but both of these were tracks Lana and Jack singled out as exciting collaborations themselves.

For most of the rest of their work together, it feels more like Lana had hin since she likes him and feels comfortable working with him. But that also meant he gave the "standard Antonoff treatment" to her demos and - at least in my opinion - that leads to a rather bleak and unexciting output.

When Lana worked with  Rick as her "comfort zone producer", it still felt like he was giving the songs a much more unique, Lana-specific sound. Jack on the other hand has a temdency of making everything sound alike, with a kinda vague and non-committing quality.

Yeah, and it's like, he's not bad, but often times he's just good enough and while the songs are good I always feel like something is missing idk. His minimalistic productions are too empty, I feel like Lana has a lot of input and she makes the songs great bcs of her unique creative vision but like other projects he's worked on I don't really listen to anymore:xcry:

Her new sound is Reminiscent to honeymoon

I think it's good to put this positive energy out into the universe

i wouldn't mind something soft & sunny where you can see waves rolling in & out of your mind. something dreamy & surfy, maybe with little hints of psychedelia & country & some soft beats in there too. anyone else feeling this vibe?

I would love that!! seems so dreamy

  3. I don't want to be mean, I like Jack, I think he is good. NFR was a masterpiece, but thankfully Rick did like two songs on it too. However, I think after a while he becomes just good enough, like idk I miss the atmosphere we had with her older albums, the quieter songs felt so full. I think with Ocean we're starting to get that atmosphere back so I'm excited for LDRX! And don't get me wrong, I love Chemtrails and Blue Bannisters! I guess I just miss Rick Nowells, he has worked with so many different artists and music styles that I think he has more to pull from :xcry: but I'll truly be excited for aything Lana decides to put out

I’m curious to know what in Lana’s music that is appealing to kids that are about 10-12 years old, her lyrics and sound are far from what I liked when I was 10. I don’t think I’d even understand everything she’s singing about.

I was 13 when I first heard Video Games and what drew me in was the sound idk why, my english wasn't the best yet but I searched the lyrics and saw the video and  was so obsessed. I loved the melody
