I love how the "taking and putting her jacket"-type moves in this video are all so true-to-life — if you see her live or watch a video of her live, she's always doing stuff like this hahaha.

Every time I see the video in your signature, I do a double take because I think it's Alanis Morissette.

Was she, like, planning on an abuse/DV-theme for the cover album/EP? "Luka," "Voices Carry," and "Live To Tell" are all either about those things or popularly (mis)understood to be about those things.

The album gets A LOT better when you throw out the final three tracks, put "Kill For Love" after "Zombieboy," and end the album with "Can't Stop The High." "Can't Stop The High" would have been the PERFECT closer for this album — a song that actually seems designed to end an album. As the final track, it'd work as a thesis statement for the whole record: you cannot stop this party; dance or die; etc. In a way, it'd almost imply you're about to restart the album and go right back to listening. Ending on this track would be a fabulous moment of Gaga giving a little bow and acknowledging, "Yeah, I f*cking did that, huh? Y'all really worked up now. Y'all can't stop the feeling I just gave you." Instead, the album's last three tracks are absolute clunkers and feel hugely disconnected from the rest of the album's sounds . I've been fantasizing over a MAYHEM AND IT'S COMPLETELY DIFFERENT BUT ALSO STILL MAYHEM remix album that features a bunch of notoriously shelved/flopped/suppressed divas like Sky Ferreira, Jojo, Nicole Scherzinger, etc. Imagine what Sky — and her legendary status as a maligned celebutante — could bring to a remix of "Perfect Celebrity"? It's far from one of my favorite tracks on MAYHEM, but the sound and the lyrics would fit Sky so well… And if I'm going full fantasy with this, let's just imagine: "Shadow of A Man" ft. Azealia Banks

"descending" is probably in my top 10 list of songs that mean the most to me lyrically. can't even go into why, but ifykyk & if not, it's too late to know what yr father's done... I've read / seen reference to there being multiple leaked versions of "Descending," including a so-called "final mix" version, and I'm really hoping some kind soul on this forum will see this and message me with some info. I know I'm new here, buuuuut I've loved reading this site for so many years && it's basically become my HQ for keeping up with the MASOCHISM extended universe.

Can someone please help me find the different versions of "Descending"? Esp the "descending (final mix)"? Apparently there's like four versions of the song going around? Did the version from the snippet youtube video ever get shared? Y'all, I spiritually need this right now.

aw that's cute! how did i miss that? she needs a private subreddit for non-toxic fans or something. (shoutout to my fellow bbs from Captiol's official Sky Ferreira Street Team)

    Lady Gaga

Gaga and her team really suffer from trying to react to every slight change in the GP's attitude toward what she releases. There's no way MAYHEM would've had three clunky ballads close out the album if it weren't for the (mind-bogglingly undeserved, considering the song) chart success of DWAS in the months leading up to the album. If you remove Beast, Blade, and DWAS && instead have Kill For Love and Can't Stop The High as the final tracks, the entire album slides into perfect focus, it coheres into a whole, it becomes a unified work of art on the level of BTW or Jagged Little Pill or Ray of Light — an album that is so seamless, so well-integrated and focused, that you hear and experience it as one long story. It becomes something more than its parts, an overall vibe that you can feel just thinking about the album and never stop feeling as you move from song to song; it's A Wild Night Out, it's The Party, it's Dark Night of The Clubby Soul, it's an energy that does not let up once from start to finish. And come ON, "Can't Stop The High" is a perfect album closer if there ever was one. It's literally a declaration of not being able to stop the high that the album has unleashed. As the final track, it would be such a bold assertion of the album's generative power to excite and incite — that's the theme of a riot...

Also, ty to whichever mod read my email about having trouble signing up & helped me get my account working here! It's possible I am Sky Ferreira herself, but I know you all would attack me for lying if I said that — because that's what so many do here, right? Chart out the history of "lies" you piece together from the scraps of information an artist gets to share online while juggling endless conflicts between other people involved with releases, videos, everything... I'll break yr face, u know I'll wear the crown

Y'all act like she is scheming whenever there's the remotest of pretext that allows for "Is she lying?!" speculation. It's silly. On the other hand, stans like me take every opportunity we can to defend her and grasp for some reasonable explanation — and so: Was this posted on Thursday as a TBT post? That'd explain using the old photo. I also agree with @imbennett re: everything hinting at her releasing a cover of some sort, possibly LIVE TO TELL since she mentions Madonna in the original caption on the old studio picture. (Might be reaching a bit here, but maybe her posing on the swanky hotel hallway is another nod to Madonna and "Justify My Love" MV?) If Sky was trying to leave us some crumbs to follow in the lead up to releasing a Madonna cover, it'd make sense: the vague suggestion of "identity theft" (covering another artist, obvi) & a new JML-esque pic && a reposted old pic from when she was recording covers and mentioning Madonna… Also, someone here mentioned in Decemeber that Sky supposedly told a fan she'd be releasing Live to Tell soon. Sky Ferreira being free means she's free, not free-to-finally-feed-us-everything-we-have-always-wanted. If she is working as a cashier at some dusty lil bookstore in LA, it's fabulous that she gets to do that. If she wants to just live for a while, without any "YOU ARE AN ONGOING FAILURE AND IMMINENT FLOP!" dark cloud looming over her every waking moment, then that is fekking great. We have like four albums' worth, at least, of good, solid music. Enjoy it and pray for rain/leaks. A few fans and I begged Sky to leak something on 11-11-11 after that debut album release date was pushed back, and she actually did… If we want PRETTY DULL or something new, let's start an organized (and cute/friendly, not rabid and rude) campaign to convince her to do so!
