I'm very glad I'm not the only one to think of that!!! And yeah, I was afraid to be this bold, but I absolutely agree and it makes complete sense. I feel like Lana is more and more losing her chill regarding her innuendos, but that may be a figment of my thirsty imagination. I didn't knew that, thank you so much for all your phenomenal work, early shows section is extremely impressive

I'm coming back from running under London's absolutely pouring rain and I blasted Religion on and I no longer fear nor doubt the existence of God I mean the experience of this song's lyrics and melody and rhythm and all the nature going crazy was more revealing than any mass I ever attended -

I've listened to Salvatore compulsively on a loop for the past 3h I can't get over it it feels like an umbilical cord bonds me to it. I'm so fucking happy because I had a feeling it would be my fav and it is. I can't describe the vibe of it I don't know if it's happy or sad or nostalgic or melancholic, the rhythm lulls me and there is a universe of references that rush in my head when the chorus starts, my favourite part is when she first say limousines in the first chorus. It feels like meeting an old friend again, as if this song was always meant to be created. The energy of it is extremely peculiar, it's dark it's sarcastic it's empowering as hell, it's poetic, it's everything I ever longed for, it's extremely beautiful, it's an immense masterpiece Edit: I can't stop talking about it, I want to add that the production is absolutely flawless and that it depicts exactly the kind of vibe I would love to have at the very end of my wedding party, when'll I'll be alone with my SO in my wedding dress, at 5am, alone in the world in the dark, slowly dancing while this song explodes in the background, it makes me so happy -

There's a few things that I'd like to discuss!! First I can't help but to think as OTTR, Carmen and now Salvatore as some sort of a trilogy in the theme and vibe. Also after listening to the whole album and cried my eyes out, I was wondering if the subject of this album might not necessarily be a man, but fame in itself. I know it's already been said about HBTB, but when I see song like GKIT and how she's sarcastically having fun in Freak, I really wonder who this album is addressed to. What are your views on that? Edit: and in Swan Song, when she says I will never sing again, maybe it means that she will never take any bullshit anymore from criticisms and she will sing FOR HERSELF. -
I'm really blown away by how sultry this album is and uh, being French, the line "dying by the hand of a foreign man happily" reminds me of the expression "la petite mort" which means "the small death" and stands for "orgasm". So, maybe far-fetch and I'm sorry to have to be the one bringing this up haha but this is how I feel now with this in mind: it's the story of a girl that craves for a man because she can't have it, for his fame, for his exoticism, then when she finally have it in the bridge, she simply passes to other priorities, she's playing with him. I love this so much because for once she's not the one being played, she's in control and having the fun of her life. I really think it's my favourite of the record wow

Not point in repeating so I'm just quoting myself but this is my opinion on Honeymoon. I haven't listened to it as a whole body of work yet. The lyrics to all the songs? Yes I guess I could, but tomorrow, I'm just dying of sleep deprivation now haha. Same for the produced credits, sorry the OP is a bit empty cause I rushed to make it available asap -

I couldn't respectfully disagree more. I think the lyrics of HM are so much more powerful and empowering than BTD's one. I think it's also because I grew up, and I now much more relate to the mature lyrics of HM than the cheesy-in-a-good-way lyrics of BTD. It's not the same themes at all either, and it's really an unpopular opinion but I'm truly delighted by Lana's writing on this album. BTD has some gems of writing, VG BJ OTTR, but this album's writing quality is much more cohesive imho, as a whole, which is peculiar to this particular album. I most definitely understand your view on BTD though, even though I personally don't share it as I prefer Honeymoon Glad this is the direction this thread is going, thank you! -

I know but on the pre release thread there must be at least 300 pages of pure literal shit and drama it's annoying too there's no in-between and if you have a serious post even if in the end it's not that serious it can't even be seen amongst all the other mess posts. Oh well whatever -

Fuck guys please go fight in the pre-release I mean it's exactly why me made this thread. @ any mod can someone delete all this useless posts (except May's one) and indeed maybe lock the thread? I'm writing all my theories anyway I think it's fair enough to wait until everyone heard the record but I beg you not to start a mess I love this album and I would love to be able to discuss it seriously -

I know that's why I'm asking around but tbh to this point seeing this thread I think it would be beneficial to have a clean thread to be serious on because I have some genuine questions about several songs and I don't want to be interrupted in my thoughts by a mass scat attack -

Wow I feel exactly the same, thank you for saying it this well. I actually interestingly feel that UV is much more cohesive, UV was so violent, in-tha-face in terms of concept, but to me it's obvious that HM is just a story, with a beginning and an end and a distinct progression, which I don't felt that much in UV, which is more like peaks of intense emotions varying on similar themes. -

I actually think she's MUCH more happy now... Idk. She's in stable relationship, she did the album she wanted exactly, and the fact that she does promo even though it's messy af and especially the fact that PRECISELY she's not as BLATANTLY vocal about how she loves the record feels like she isn't forcing herself, she's sure of what she's doing and she knows it's her best piece of work yet. Visually, to me nothing beats the rock chick with smoky eyeshadow from UV, even the iconic white T haunts my dreams. Uv era visuals are forever goals. I find HM more vintage, but in a very different, more mature, less badass but more assured way. -

No but can you imagine though,,,, I know you're being ironical but if she continue being this happy and satisfied and mature and INTERESTED in what she does, I don't think we can even imagine how it would end up being like. I'm sure she has the potential to do really seemingly uncharacteristic moves but that actually end up being her 10000% because she's so damn good at being unpredictable. Who knows is she won't do a watered down version of this haha -

Omg, living for this in theory. I don't think it'd be this good for her wellbeing even though she screamed on every roof how proud and in love she was with UV, but I would adore some other rockish jazzy anthems to die and reborn in the haze of the dead of night -

Tbh, I'm ending up snatched with extreme violence everytime, I can't grasp this woman, it's always unexpected and insanely better than what I thought it'd be, she could record herself sleeping and I'd cry on it and buy 3 vinyls -

My issue with GnR is that the first part of the verse is amazing, really excellent and then it all goes down in a split second after the 0:26 mark -

Fair enough, I do not have listened to the album as a whole yet. But I adore the song in itself. I personally immensely relate to it though and I find it extremely empowering, which I agree might not be the case for everyone. To me the worst song would be Honeymoon or Terrence Loves You, I'm really unlucky because every single song Lana considers to be her favourite is usually the one I dislike the most I super love it it's gorgeous and haunting -

And in terms of album rankings, I adore Sirens really a lot, as well as FTE/YLM, but it too me months of intense stanning. On the other end, Paradise leaves me numb. I listen to certain songs repetitively but the overall album concept is... Too... American for me, I don't know. It's like the untouchable 5 for me. And apart from that, the unreleased are definitely superior to any album in my eyes. Edit: I forgot AKA, I love the whole concept of the album but there are songs that I really don't listen to, and some songs that I really like but always find something better to hear. -

Respectfully but strongly disagree, turn on your location, I love this song to after the afterlife and it helped me in so many ways. But, I'm a huge fan of French hip hop so I admit that my opinion might not be valid haha
