  1. http://stormriver.tumblr.com/ cut up and made this song from the Trash/Magic demo. People don't give him enough credit!
  2. ASCAP. She has definitely rerecorded them and licensed them. See here. (Search Writers -> LANA DEL REY) All of her original AKALG songs are there as well like 'Yayo' and 'Gramma' (because AKALG was an actual official release unlike Sirens) but you notice that there are doubles like 'Smarty' and 'Smartie', 'Put Me In A Movie' and 'Little Girls' (same song), 'Raise Me Up' and 'Raise Me Up (Mississippi South)', 'Mermaid Hotel' and 'Mermaid Motel'. If you look at the link above, Burning Desire is a real track. Because of You is not on the list but that doesn't mean that it's fake. Body Electric and Blue Velvet aren't on the list but we definitely know they're real. (Body Electric might not have even been recorded yet because it's always performed live). Why are people always obsessed with these two songs. The two snippets are obviously something like 'iTunes previews' for the tracks because they are only around 30 seconds long which means that the two songs are meant to be part of a completely different album altogether. Do people really think that 'Damn You' will fit in with 'Body Electric' and the whole of Born To Die's depressing classical instrumentation. And don't get me started with people who think that 'Serial Killer' etc are going to be on it because they are just stupid. Also, about the 8 track thing, Lana herself said there were going to be 7 new tracks so news will keep changing so we shouldn't say that anything's definite yet.
  3. I would love to become a moderator for this forum because I believe that this forum could be very successful if it's handled properly. I know I do not have many posts at the moment and I might not exactly be Lana's biggest fan but I am a member of a lot of other successful forums and I've been around them long enough to know how they're moderated and handled. I'm always on the internet so I can be someone who always checks up on the forum and can be available at any time that I'm needed. I think that I'm quite organised when it comes to important things so I could possibly help with cleaning/sorting out the forum! Personally I am opinionated but I do listen to other people's opinions a lot. I always want to make people happy but I know that I can't please everyone. As a moderator, I'd make sure that I can do everything in my power to keep the forum/thread under control in a time of drama or important events. I understand that this forum is predominantly around the ages of 13 to 18 (at least, at the moment) so they might need someone older to moderate the forum (I'm 17).
  4. When she said there were eight new songs does that mean there's only going to be eight songs? She rerecorded a few AKALG songs like Smarty/Smartie and Mermaid Motel/Hotel so maybe those might be on the rerelease as well since those songs aren't exactly 'new'.
  5. Marylin Monroe is a better title! I prefer Body Electric to ISTBE because there's less to type (I hate the song though so it doesn't really matter). Wasn't Lolita called Lolyta, then Hey Lolita Hey then Lolita?
  6. I watched Magic Mike earlier and I'm about to watch Apollo 18!
  7. The admins haven't even reached 300 posts yet! Let alone a thousand! I think admins should get to be 'Queen/King of Coney Island', Gramma, or 'Million Dollar Man' depending on their gender. I can't think of any sequential rank names though! I don't think ranks should go by post count but it should be awarded to people who have helped the community grow or have made quality posts. Like, if someone posted "I like this song" in ten Lana threads and if someone posted in a link pointing us to more information about Lana's releases, then why should the spammer get a better rank than the person who is actually being helpful?
  8. My perfect set list would be: 01 Children of the Bad Revolution 02 Blue Jeans 03 This Is What Makes Us Girls 04 Off To The Races 05 Without You 06 Never Let Me Go 07 Yayo 08 Million Dollar Man 09 Driving In Cars With Boys 10 Carmen 11 Born To Die 12 Video Games Encore: 01 Body Electric 02 Radio 03 Summertime Sadness 04 Ridin' (ft. A$AP Rocky) 05 National Anthem (ft. A$AP Rocky)
  9. In August there was literally one leak every week. Lana needs to find a tampon for her music, quick!
  10. Born to Die, Blue Jeans and Video Games demos are almost identical to the studio ones so I won't judge those. I think Diet Mountain Dew's demo is too slow. I prefer the piano and the beat on the studio version! The Nexus version of National Anthem slays tbh. It's better than the studio version for sure. The other version of NA isn't as impacting but I do like the inclusion of strings and piano. Dark Paradise's demo is less depressing than the studio version and I do like the extra lyrics. The drum beat in the chorus is good but I think it doesn't really suit what the song is about. The piano tune in the first few seconds of Radio demo make the song a hundred times better imo. The Carmen demo is just a piano, string and percussion version. I like the alternate acapella version's lyrics and she should have included them in the final version to be honest. Million Dollar Man sounds the same but I think the singing is more raw in the demo version. However, the extra instumentals in the final studio version paces the song a lot better. This Is What Makes Us Girls demo is a strong song. The beat is much better and I prefer the faster tempo. I think Lana's high singing is much better than her low singing. The Demo version sounds more innocent and carefree rather than the serious and foreboding sound of the studio version. I do like the panning klaxon sounds in the studio version though! Without You demo is beautiful but it's only just a simple piano track so I can say that I like the studio version much better. Hey Lolita Hey is a thousand times better than the final version. I really dig the old-time (1970s?) sound and the bassline is a real earworm. It sounds like it should be played in a small american pub and everyone just gets up and starts swinging. The alternate demo is much more 'sleazier' and jazz sounding with slow doublebass bow movements. It sound very seductive and I'm not sure which version suits the song better so I really can't choose. The studio version sounds very evil and menacing. The demo for Lucky Ones also sounds very different to the final version. The guitar adds something to the song for me personally. The song sounds very redneck roadtrip-y with the tambourine and the clapping. This is exactly how it should sound like because the song is about finding the adventure in love and the demo does a better job than the final version. And I can't resist saying this but the demo for Driving In Cars With Boys shits all over the final version. I know it's only a few added lines and Lana sings in her falsetto voice but it's just so much better. So so so so much better. </wall of text>
  11. My least favourite is Diet Mtn Dew. I know a lot of people love it but I just think the chorus is too repetitive. I disagree with the Lucky Ones votes though, I think the lyrics is its strong point. I know a lot of songs are better but I didn't think it was the weakest song on the album! Also, Without You is my favourite! I can't believe it has a vote!
  12. Didn't she record 'You Can Be The Boss' and 'Driving In Cars With Boys' for Born To Die? They better be on the Paradise Ed because they're both amazing. She performs YCBTB live sometimes so I can't see a reason why it can't be on the album. Also, I just wanted to say that I really dislike Body Electric.
  13. ^Diet Mtn Dew "Do you really have to put those tight handcuffs on?"
  14. Here is the alternate version of the song! The boys, the girls, they all like Carmen, She gives ‘em butterflies, bats her cartoon eyes, She laughs like God, her mind’s like a diamond, Audiotune lies, but she’s still shining, shining, shining. Darling, darling, doesn’t have a problem Lying to herself, says her liquor’s top shelf, It’s alarming honestly how charming she can be, She’s fooling everyone, telling ‘em she’s having fun. The night descends and there goes Carmen, Only seventeen but she walks the streets so mean, The men, they stop when she walks by, and whisper “Who is she?” la princesa de la silence, Her walk is art, her words are lightning, Striking everyone when she pass by them. Carmen, darling, doesn’t have a problem, She’s lying to herself ‘cause her liquor’s top shelf, It’s alarming honestly how charming she can be, She’s fooling everyone, telling ‘em she’s having fun. She looks animated like a cartoon baby with a tiara smile and a shortcake heart, Yo, she looks animated, like a cartoon baby with a champagne sighs and her cocaine heart, You’re like a light, but you can’t turn off, You’re getting too bright and you need to stop, But you can’t tonight or you’ll get in hot, And your body keeps twisting, moving, twisting, moving, shaking, You’re twisting, moving, shaking, your dance until dawn, Yeah, you dance until you drop. Carmen, carmen doesn’t have a problem, Lying to herself ‘cause her liquor’s top shelf, False alarming, honest how disarming she can be, Fooling everyone, when inside they know you’re done. Carmen, carmen, doesn’t have a problem, Lying to herself ‘cause her liquor’s top shelf.
  15. I really love her girly look rather than her 'bad-girl beehive'. It's nice to see her show her innocent side once in a while.
