I'm very glad that she's getting generally favorable reviews. I hope she at least matches UV with her metacritic score. huh, I don't think she sounds that different on Paradise? Maybe I'm not listening closely enough, tho. It all sounds like the same Lana to me. *shrugs*

I really think this album needs to be listened to a couple of times in order to truly love it. Lana albums always take a few listens for me to get into, just because there's so much going on in the production or lyrics or whatever that keeps surprising me even a dozen listens in. Not everyone will love the album, I'm sure, but I think with more listens people will enjoy it more.

if anything, it's that review that's one note, not Honeymoon.

The only song I really can't get into right now is 24. I can't put my finger on why, really. Swan Song (especially) and DLMBM grew on me so much once we got hq. The production on Swan Song is fucking insane.

I looooooove this look, makes me think we'll be getting something hq with more costume/set changes.

I love Ultraviolence, but I also love how it divides the Lana fandom for some reason, like when someone passionately loves it (me!) and someone else passionately dislikes it, it amuses me so much... not in a condescending way, I just get a kick out of how divisive it is as a body of work.

I felt the same way about Swan Song and it's so so SO much better in hq, like it went from being one of my least favorites to one of my favorite songs.

Terrence Loves You is the best song on the album.

I'm really digging Religion, The Blackest Day, Swan Song, Salvatore and Art Deco right now. Yesterday I didn't think I'd ever enjoy Swan Song the way I do now, the production is so damn gooooood and I don't give a fuck about the repeating chorus- didn't bother me on Ultraviolence, doesn't bother me now!

I'm listening to the entire album on repeat and it just flows so nicely together, I'm entirely pleased. I don't think there's a song on it that I'd skip at this point. I even love DLMBM now that I've listened to it a few times in hq, though I do agree she could have done a lottttttt more with it.
