  1. i think lana getting the original west coast video denied by her label is what set her back in her artistry. she wanted to release it and do the cult thing for Ultraviolence, but since she couldnt it discouraged her and shes still in her artist block
  2. ive found peace with most of it, theres just 4 songs that just terrible and boring
  3. imagine if the "and youre my cult leader" spoken part in Ultraviolence was when they drank the poison. it wouldve been amazing!!
  4. it just wont feel right if it was meant for UV. it feels like a missed opportunity revamped into something different
  5. if chuck directed it, get ready for a big ole mess
  6. the cult will die at the end of the video and lana will probably name it the end of the honeymoon era
  7. i feel like if she made a kickstarter page she'd only make like $10. she needs a label, but one that pushes her
  8. if the UV era was like this, itd be orgasmic. i wish Brooklyn Baby, Black Beauty, and Florida Kilos got music videos
  9. chuck is such a bad photographer, lana should put a restraining order on chucks camera
  10. TLY , GKIT , and DLMBM can be used as another form of chloroform
  11. if BTD lana is a gangsta nancy sinatra and UV lana is a west coast sad girl, what persona is HM? throughout this era there hasnt been cohesive imagery
  12. it just feels like this album came out of the blue and has no real purpose. BTD was her debut. Paradise was an addition that took away the hip hop beats so she could broaden her genre. UV was aimed towards mocking the press and evolving her sound and showing she can sing. Honeymoon talks about the press and showing her vocal abilities (which was done many times before in UV) and talks about being young and stupid (which was done many times before in BTD) honestly, HM has very good songs, but its a pointless album. it just adds more songs to her registry she can perform live. this album didnt bring a new sound or a new meaning. after releasing a great album like UV and evolving her sound, i thought she would continue to show different sides of the 50s 60s and 70s but no. im not entirely dissapponted with HM but im not nearly satisfied either. its missing something and i cant put my finger on it.
  13. itd be really cool of lana did a Q&A on periscope
  14. also $10 for the dress she probably found at goodwill and $5 for the bouquet flowers she got at walmart
  15. at least lana doesnt look like an aunt at a barbecue in her HM music videos. seeing the outfits she wore in the endless summer tour scared me a bit for this era
  16. the west coast music video couldve been iconic but all the shots and angles were all wrong! the ultraviolence trailer is iconic though
  17. so does tarantino have anything to do with this surprise
  18. chuck posted a video of herself in a blue wig and the caption sayed shes thinking about ancient egypt and that shes excited for freak
  19. i think the suprise could be a tropico like film but directed by terentino. probably will have 3 songs from HM like tropico had. lana did say she went for a noir type of feel to the album and Tarantino is known for his neo-noir vibes
  20. the main problem with HM i have is that she didt evolve with this album, with BTD she evolved, with UV she evolved. I had the expectations that she would keep reinventing herself but she didnt. HM is just a slower BTD full of songs that sound like demos and needed to be worked further. if you ask me, the songs: Honeymoon, Terrence Loves You, God Knows I Tried, and Lana's version of Dont Let Me Be Misunderstood SHOULP HAVE NEVER EXISTED. The songs: MTWBT, Freak, and Swan Song need more work because they feel like theyre missing something. HM wouldve been better if it was left as an ep like PD and have more west coast auerbach type of production to it and then she couldve taken a year long break to think about how she will reinvent herself for her next era UV >> BTD >> HM >> PD >> AKA
  21. i love UV from the start and it will be one of my favorite albums ever BTD and HM arent nowhere near to UV's glory I hope lana revisits this style in the far future
  22. HM definitely sounds the best when its played loud and through clear speakers
  23. her magnum opus is obviously the whole Ultraviolence album (minus The Other Woman and Guns and Roses)
