  1. Did anyone else clock the truck at the beginning? Looks like the same make from the BTD and LFL album covers. Her mind! The layers!
  2. I've owned both the LP60 and LP120 (currently have the LP120) and they both have worked like a dream. You can get the LP60 for as little as $79-99, and it's really the best bang you're going to get for your buck. Any cheaper models are just going to cost you more money in the long run by ruining all your records. The average lifespan for the LP60 is about three years, at which point the belt and motor typically wear out, but it still beats the chintzier models. When mine wore out I decided to splurge on the LP120, and it's been smooth sailing since. To reiterate, you will need a receiver & speaker system as well. I've had the Logitech Z506 system since 2014 and the quality is crisp enough for my tastes, but there are cheaper systems if you're on a budget.
  3. http://lanaboards.com/index.php?/topic/10278-norman-fucking-rockwell-pre-release-thread/page-3357&do=findComment&comment=824037 Lana’s lyrics have never been about originality or breaking literary grounds; rather, they’re broad impressionistic strokes that marry music to evoke feeling and mood. Think the paintings of Monét translated into musical form. It’s not about the detail, but the feeling that is cultivated, and that feeling transporting you to a particular place or time. I feel prophetic! Lana come thru with the Monet video for Love Song PLEASE
  4. She also mentioned a video idea for Love Song... she wants to do a painted video, to make it like a Monét painting come to life, which would be a dreeeaaaam. Monét’s my favorite painter ~
  5. I am CUMMING at her riffing these high notes rn
  6. NFR: "you talk to the walls when the party gets bored of you / but I don't get bored, I just see through" MAC: "they took my sadness out of context" & "kinda girl who's gonna make you wonder / who you are and who you been" VB: "baby's back in town now / you should come-a come over" & "back in the garden / we're getting high now / because we're older..." FIILY: "turns out everywhere you go / you take yourself" LS: "I believe that you see me for who I am [...] is it safe, is it safe to just be who we are?" & "would like to think that you will stick around" CG: "hold me, love me, touch me, help me / be the first who ever did" HTD: "you just crack another beer / and pretend that you're still here / this is how to disappear" & "I watch the skies getting light as I write / as I think about those years [...] no one's going anywhere" CA: "heard the war was over if you really choose / the one in and around you" & "we'll do whatever you want / travel wherever, how far / we'll hit up all the old places / we'll have a party / we'll dance til dawn" TNBAR: "my baby used to dance underneath my architecture / we lost track of space / we lost track of time" TG: "we didn't know that we had it all / but nobody warns you before the fall" & "I want shit to feel just like it used to / I miss doing nothing the most of all" BT: "they don't know yet where I reside / sixty miles from the last place I hide" HIAB: "happiness is a butterfly / we should catch it while dancing / I lose myself in the music baby" HIADT: "writing in blood on the walls / 'cause the ink in my pen don't work in my notepad" & "I have it, I have it, I have it"
  7. lyrical perfection aside, her vocal delivery on this part makes me swoooooooon
  8. I just got wine drunk with my boyfriend (who isn’t a big Lana stan like me and hadn’t heard any of the tracks outside a couple of the singles), and we danced to the whole album on vinyl. He started crying during Love Song and stayed crying through Cinnamon Girl and said it felt like we were dancing at our wedding, and for that experience alone this album is 10/10 Lana’s best work.
  9. oooh la la and my birthday is in april Chicaghoooeeee let's GO
  10. that's misogyny babes! these washed up post-rockers can release the same album over and again and get all the acclaim, but Lana ain't shit because botox and name change
  11. Saaaaaame. I love how Cinnamon Girl's outro mirrors the strings from Love Song - it gives me flashbacks to the outro of Off To The Races mirroring the intro of Born To Die
  12. 4000 pages were just a state of mind... we truly are beautiful people with beautiful problems
  13. I hear “I’ll pick up all of your phones” lmao it’s folks?????
  14. "Nightmarish as the discourse surrounding her early years could be, it’s always been Lana Del Rey’s dream we’ve been living in, and not the opposite. Born to Die endures as a monument both to what she created and what she endured, and even if the endurance overwhelmed the creation for quite awhile there, she got over the vicious Internet Ingenue era a long time ago, even if you never did." https://www.theringer.com/music/2019/8/29/20837501/lana-del-rey-born-to-die-video-games-snl-norman-rockwell-brian-williams-hipster-runoff I was listening to Born To Die on the way home from work last night, and I was honestly awestruck at not only how well the album has aged, but also how far she has come since then. Over the course of the past seven years, she has now delivered us five albums and an EP, and every single one of them slaps in its own way. She's been remarkably prolific and consistent in quality. Instead of constantly arguing about which track on whatever album has the worst muddy trap beats, I feel like we should all look back and take stock of how lucky we are to follow such a talented artist who just keeps on growing and developing.
  15. honestly kaiju Lana is such a fucking serve. Give me a love triangle in the upcoming Godzilla v Kong movie
