  1. didn’t realize this was the lust for life post release thread
  2. it's always this pattern. I was just a lurker then but I remember the majority here h a t e d Honeymoon when it came out but nowadays seems like everyone tucks that ruby red vinyl into bed at night. y'all will obsess over LFL in two years, I promise
  3. leaks are a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have - but I can wait three more days after waiting a year to hear this album but for real I'm loving the feedback from everyone that's listened! y'all got me tantalized. TANTALIZED.
  4. Saaaaaaame. Sis invented clinical depression with that album, and with the trajectory of her musical output since she’s been helping us chart the course out of it.
  5. Yooooooo Doin Time sounds so good and natural following up FIILY. I don’t get all the people decrying it as out of place on the album..
  6. Finally off work and able to listen to these tracks properly! I’m going to stream the (currently available) album tracks in order to hear how what we have so far flows together ~~
  7. Lana’s lyrics have never been about originality or breaking literary grounds; rather, they’re broad impressionistic strokes that marry music to evoke feeling and mood. Think the paintings of Monét translated into musical form. It’s not about the detail, but the feeling that is cultivated, and that feeling transporting you to a particular place or time. To call them Lana cliches is to miss the point. All great artists have their favorite subjects that they refract and reframe time and again, and that’s what makes Lana special in the current age of pop music.
  8. 3000 pages... that’s 3000 party dresses, 3000 sordid poolside affairs, 3000 gas station bathroom breakdowns, 3000 cigarette butts, and a lifetime of memories
  9. I clicked into this thread thinking she was attending the gay club Church in Amsterdam
  10. translucent blue - Norman Records: https://www.normanrecords.com/records/177705-lana-del-rey-norman-fucking-rockwell Fnac: https://www.fnac.com/a13690467/Lana-Del-Rey-Norman-Fucking-Rockwell-Exclusivite-Fnac-Edition-Limitee-Vinyle-transparent-bleu-Vinyle-album
  11. I get where you're coming from, but I feel like such a broad interpretation is taking her sadness out of context - that context being a deep sense of grief over the almost daily mass shootings in present day USA. The only aspect of the past she's yearning for with this song is one where Americans in general did not have to live in fear of mass shootings; it's not any deeper than that.
  12. Did everyone try the chicken? I thought the chicken was lovely
  13. idk I’m ready for some Looking For America - Canada In My Mind featuring muddy trap beats
  14. Looking for America is breathtaking. You can tell that it’s not something she just whipped up for woke points, that it was born out of a place of genuine pain - you can feel it in her words, hear it in her voice.
  15. What are the chances of this Target edition have exclusive bonus tracks?
  16. Since everyone's talking bout their cover fantasies in an NFR thread, I'm just going to say what we're all thinking: Lana needs to cover She Wolf by Shakira. Do that challenge!
  17. This is true - MBTI has zero scientific basis and is rooted as much in confirmation bias as astrology. Trust me, I got myself way too much student loan debt for a degree in psychology I'm not using to not flex it on a Lana Del Rey fan forum. ANYWAY I fell in love with Lana for her music and couldn't care less about hair & makeup. 25 days til NFR.
  18. Oh man! I’ve never seen her live or really kept track of her tour setlists, so I have no sense of what is overplayed, but my fantasy setlist is: Lolita Cola Is this happiness Black beauty This is what makes us girls Cinnamon girl Diet mtn dew Music to watch boys to West coast Venice bitch Pawn shop blues Tomorrow never came The next best american record Video games Flipside How to disappear Mariners apartment complex Love Brooklyn baby Summertime sadness Ride Get free It’s never gonna happen for a lot of reasons, but a girl can dream
  19. I appreciate that interpretation! I can see where you’re coming from, too - taking it in as a single sweeping, impressionistic soundtrack. There is a certain self-aware, tongue-in-cheek/popart bent to her output, and this very much exemplifies that. And it’s been so long since I’ve listened to it in its entirety. Perhaps one rainy day I’ll open a bottle of wine and put on my Honeymoon record (I admit this album really blooms on vinyl, as all her music does) and just let myself feel it ~
