  1. Who actually influenced Lana's music? I know definitely one is Cat Power, but who else? Some reasoning would be good please.

I know that in early interviews Lana said Eminem, Britney Spears and so on but she probably said it because she hated the interview/interviewer, and just said random stuff. It led on iTunes citing the same thing which is not true. Her music doesn't sound like neither of them at all (well apart from that rap part in National Anthem)

Her 'Lizzy Grant' era MySpace cited a few including Radiohead (I can't remember all of them cos I didn't have the web archive image with me), but could that be Lana citing random bands just for the sake of it again?

Also how unique Lana is to the point when you find similar artists/radio on Spotify/Apple Music, you get either mainstream pop artists (Marina, Charli, etc) or famous indie ones (Florence, St Vincent), which doesn't sound like Lana's music at all? This bugs me very much.

  2. I'm actually surprised by how good Honeymoon is when it only took her just more than a year to release it. To be fair she doesn't tour much, and what happens with other artists/bands is that they go on tour constantly, come back have an actual rest, then start writing, because writer's block happens all the time. Lana just happened to have more inspiration than usual! Saying that she's rushed with this album is actually not right! If she is then why the sound is so much different from Ultraviolence?

Also same with her videos, she controls every aspects of her music. Producers can make a song better like the cinematography in a film, but the original idea/theme, the overall sound and vibe, it's all her! She's the one who cherry picked the producer for her songs. So saying that Rick Nowels is not as good as Dan Auerbach is a false argument. She picked the producer that can help make her vision into life, just like how she picked Anthony Mandler for Ride and Tropico..

  3. I don't think we will get an EP for Honeymoon, to me it seems like she's just chilling with Francesco or her family. It we get something on December it maybe the announcement of Tour dates, wich would a little random but yet so possible.

Interscope stopped playing that shit (extending an album) a while ago, and didn't even force lana to put deluxe track on Honeymoon

  4. Apparently this is an unpopular opinon, but I love American, it's one of the more encapsulating songs of Paradise. It, Blue Velvet, and Bel Air give it the heavenly quality.

YAS I FEEL THE SAME. Paradise is such a perfect album every songs is lovely in its own way

maybe except for Yayo and Burning Desire

  5. There are always two versions of Lana ... The digital versions of her albums are always mastered very "dark" with a lot of sludgy bass and not much treble, which gives them that distinctive depressing funeral dirge vibe. The vinyls, in comparison, are filled with warmth and life. PM me and I can prove it.

As far as artistic intent goes ... given how much promo she is doing for vinyl lately, she seems to prefer the latter format. It's only annoying to me because I always have to go on stodgy "the vinyl is better" audiophile rants around nonbelievers ("but she's, like, so dark and boring...").

If she prefers vinyl then why the hell is the a motherfucking gap on vinyl between Freak and Art Deco? IF she really loves vinyl then there should've been a different tracklist for Honeymoon vinyl. I understand that this LP is super long it must be 2 vinyls but can't it be cohesive?

  6. A 4/5 review in the Herald Sun - Melbourne's biggest and shittiest newspaper

That shit would have got 5/5 if the critic didn't have a problem with the album being slow and 'lazy'.

Well I guess our miss Del Rey is too 'alternative' for absolutely any critic to understand and appreciate

  7. Why does every critic have to target Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood to the media? Like seriously can't it be a love song? It just shows how fucking shallow they are.

And so is being confused between Lana being intentionally "lazy" on this album or she's just bad. Like seriously
