No, the date was officially unconfirmed to be real until after the July 21st date was confirmed. Yeah MANY sites had it listed and were themselves expecting it that day, but the date entirely unconfirmed. July 21st was confirmed by Lana herself (which may not be reliable in itself, but her team wouldnt let her say anything knowing her fanbase if it wasnt for sure coking that day)

Do people honestly think Lana will delay the album back after already seeing how much of a meltdown everyone had about an UNCONFIRMED date? Album is 100% coming on July 21st, no doubt. It's just a matter of what will happen between now and then

Seeing as Lana refuses to even announce anything until 30 minutes before (or just entirely after) We'd never be hyped. Basically destroying the little excitement she has garnered for this album

Sure, we knew "last minute" but we found out about 8 hours before that Lana would actually be the one on the show. We were all tuning into the show waiting for about 1-2 hours before the show happened, and 20-30 minutes before they would mention playing the hottest record in the world, Lana ft. the Weeknd Better start writing those papers!
