i think everyone has different reasons for not liking it but for me personally, yes 😭 records to me are just very nice pieces of art that happen to go hand in hand with a body of work i enjoy, but if the product isn’t serving beautiful artwork realness, then im just gonna go to spotify idk!

okay i don’t wanna be the absolute mayor of hatersville so i’ll clarify i do in fact see the vision and get what she’s going for and the cover does work very well for streaming & digital but… when it comes to physicals, especially vinyls - I just feel like the art should be prettier, or just more interesting at the very least. no one is seeing a pixelated “brat” in ariel over a lime green background and thinking “wow! i’d love to display this in my home!” and if the cover ever was changed - it would be the digital version that would be changed.. because it’s done with a click of a button and does not require reprinting vinyl sleeves... but that’s the ONE place this cover actually works so that would just feel kinda useless you could also argue that the vinyl variants might have different covers but i have a certain inkling that they’ll just be the same thing with different neon backgrounds (don’t hit me with an “i’m not reading all that” 😭 i know i just like talking!!!)

i mean she changed the sucker cover after everyone hated the original so…! there’s still hope 💚 the green works fine on streaming but it’s ugly as fuvk on physicals
