Terrence Loves Me Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 I couldn't believe that there wasn't a thread for this icon until now! Marilyn sweetie, i'm so sorry. Anyway, here it is. Let's talk about the most beautiful woman on Earth, Miss Monroe. Here's a clip from my favourite Marilyn movie, a classic! 12 Quote

Terrence Loves Me Posted May 22, 2018 Author Posted May 22, 2018 Some Like It Hot is such a classic! Ikr! I watched it last night for the millionth time and it never gets old it's just the cutest film! It's a shame Tony Curtis was such an ass to her onset 1 Quote
Beautiful Loser Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 I can recommend Joyce Carol Oates’ fictional biography on Norma Jean’s/M.Monroe’s life, it was very well written. It’s called “Blonde”. 3 Quote
Terrence Loves Me Posted May 22, 2018 Author Posted May 22, 2018 I love her so much, i wish she was still with us somehow 3 Quote
Terrence Loves Me Posted May 22, 2018 Author Posted May 22, 2018 When i watched the film "My Week With Marilyn" - he was portrayed as quite a horrible guy (which i'm sure he was very stressed during the filming but not as horrible as he was portrayed) but here, he seems like quite a genuine and understanding person. The problem was that he just didn't really understand Marilyn, which was why they clashed a bit, and because of all her issues at the time; she required a lot of patience and nurturing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmFL0hfLBC0 1 Quote
Ultra Violet Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 I'm still so mad at that Marilyn movie how at the end they made it that she died in the ambulance to the hospital, just for dramatic effect Anyway this probably belongs in the conspiracy thread but I don't fully believe Marilyn's death was a suicide 3 Quote

I've done a lot of research on this topic and her suicide at that moment of time is barbaric. She had just bought a new home and was starting to get her life back on track, all while feeling much happier and in the middle of shooting a movie that she was excited about.. so why on earth would she decide to kill herself?? If anything, it was an accidental overdose and not done on purpose. But that's only if i believe it was because of an overdose. Which i don't. Marilyn in fact was asssasinated because she knew too much information from, i believe the Kennedys. Apparantly she even started blackmailing them and they considered her a threat. She was a smart lady, but having an affair with the president was not a smart move 1 Quote

And all the pain she went through 1 Quote
yayoop Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 I got into Marilyn and Lana at the same time in 2012 and it was a beautifully depressing year ahahaha Marilyn’s films are amazing, I remember buying her collection and binging them all! “The Misfits” is such a sad movie, you could tell how raw her performance was. Argh, the poor thing 4 Quote " />

Argh, the poor thing I know she always hated that movie though, she told Arthur she wanted something that would make people take her seriously as an actress but instead he put her in that typical ditsy role. I think the only two movies that had her play a unique and different role were Don't Bother To Knock and Bus Stop 1 Quote

Doll Harlow Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 She's soooo underrated as an actress and was seriously under-utilized in that department. I bet she would have gone on to do some amazing roles. So sad that she's gone (even though it was forever ago but still). Love her. 2 Quote You call me lavender, you call me sunshine.

So sad that she's gone (even though it was forever ago but still). Love her. Yeah even tho it was like what, 50 + years ago? She was so intelligent, I think her input in the film industry would have been so valuable and made even MORE of an impact. She was so strong and hated herself being type-casted. If she could have been around to see the world change, she would still be ruling and I think people's opinions of her just being 'the sexy blonde actress' would have changed. 0 Quote
